From my observations in the BDF since I have been a member I would say that most bible passages are controversial. It seems a lot of members like to wrest scripture to fit their narrative of what they believe. If you post a rebuttal verse you will probably be told that the version that you are quoting scripture from is not reliable or relevant to the point being discussed. It is quite common to be told that you really just don't know what you are talking about. Or maybe you need an attitude adjustment. Probably going to hell too for good measure. So it goes.

"she" is Israel & Judah. not a particular person. this whole passage is figurative, speaking extremely insultingly to the Hebrews as a nation, mollifying them over their idolatry.

If anything falls flat its the mind of the flesh that caused us to sin, no wonder that the mind of the flesh would blame the earth as being flat. If any man is wise he is wise for himself, it doesn't help those trapped falling flat: in hell.

Some of you don't believe in the gifts of the Spirit, neither do I, you have to believe the Lord not the gift to have the gifts of God. God gives us wisdom it's up to us to ask and keep believing. The conclusion of the mater fear God, fear admiration as worship, to obey His commandments is empowered by the Holy Spirit. so not moved does not mean stationary its more like the opposite. Many such seeming contradictions to the mind of the flesh. "He that separates himself argues and quarrels with all sound wisdom."

What are you talking about? Maybe you misread one of my posts, or you're just going to throw around some garbage accusations like other "elders" do. If you read that thread, I suggest taking scripture literally, not changing or doubting it. I'll let you check before apologizing, or shrugging it off.

Try reading the entire of chapter 1 and all of chapter 2 for the proper context...Paul is answering questions there. He does not say that women should be silent. Our God is not sexist, so there must be more to it. Right?

Capernaum and Bethsaida are located a few miles from each other at the northern extremity of the Sea of Galilee.
the Sea of Galilee is sometimes called the Sea of Genessaret - Genessaret may have been a city located near Capernaum, a little south, but it's also the name of a plain along the coast in which Capernaum is located.
so all three apostles are telling us that that they sailed North, had trouble while crossing, and came to shore in the Northwest.

Ezekiel 23 is speaking in figure of two sisters. you've read it, yes?
the two represent the divided kingdom. Samaria was in the kingdom of Israel & Jerusalem in the kingdom of Judah.
"Israel" can mean collectively all the tribes, as can Judah in some situations, and both are separately referring to split groups of tribes. the cities, Samaria & Jerusalem, are also collectively part of greater Israel, but are also representative of the two divided kingdoms, in particular, in Ezekiel 23.
you are aware of this, right?
do you really think post doesn't know that Israel had 12 sons?
