In a Truth Social post Monday, Trump said: "I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% tariff on all products coming into the United States."

Either he's completely incompetent and doesn't know how tariffs work or he's deliberately trying to deceive. Either way he has no business being in a position to be doing it.

First, tariffs aren't "charged" to the exporting country but to the importer (the US). The importers will just pass their losses on to the consumers which will mean higher prices. Second, he's going to start a trade war, just like he did in his first term. It's truly hard to comprehend the level of ignorance going on here.

There's ignorance going on. It's all a ploy to get the borders shut down. Trump has done more the last 3 weeks to close the borders than the current regime in 4 years.
