I felt ignored at first, too. The only thing that kept me from leaving was the fact that I felt that God wanted me here (plus I didn't really come to the site looking for acceptance). I am just now starting to feel accepted, which is nice, and I realize that it takes time to get to know new members, so I understand and everything, it would just be nice to be able to support the good posts that don't quite deserve a rep point

Rep points are a permanent testament to the poster's reputation, so I mostly just give them out when I know that the member gives consistently good advice, which seldom includes the new members, unfortunately

"Likes", on the other hand, are only an endorsement of a specific post, which I have no problem with, even for new members (especially for new members!). That's all, folks!
