She endorsed homosexuality, encouraging those who live that life with the idea that being gay is okay......

Romans 1:32 "Although they know God’s just requirement—that those who practice such things deserve to die—they not only do these things but even applaud others who practice them."

Look, no one is measuring up to God's law. What does John say? "If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves".

What then does Paul mean by practicing sin?

First, a practiced sin is not the same as a besetting sin. A besetting sin is a sin of habit or a sin that we repeat often, but it's not a practiced sin.

A practiced sin is one that we refuse to acknowledge as sin according to God's word.

Now, since the believer has been delivered from under the law how can a practiced sin cause the believer to fall from grace?

First of all a practiced sin means that I have decided that God's word/law is wrong and it's not sin.

Secondly, if it is not sin then I don't need to repent.

Which leads to if there's nothing to repent of then I don't need Christ's imputed righteousness to cover me in the judgment.

If I don't have Christ then I've fallen from grace. That's why a Christian shouldn't condone sin as a legitimate lifestyle.

Here's a homosexual who is condoning homosexuality as a lifestyle. He twists Paul's word out of their context. This is dangerous and will eventually lead apostasy.

For this reason, God delivered them to degrading passions as their females exchanged their natural sexual function for one that is unnatural. 27 In the same way, their males also abandoned their natural sexual function toward females and burned with lust toward one another. Males committed indecent acts with males, and received within themselves the appropriate penalty for their perversion. [Rom 1:26-27]

well, as an owner of a major theme park, I get that she does not want to discriminate. but there is a difference between not discriminating and supporting something that is clearly sin as defined by the Bible. I for one am so so sick of the gay agenda.

Maybe the homosexual agenda is a part of God's way to separate the wheat from the tares, seems to be working.

Was Paul wrong to judge the sinner in 1 Corinthians 5:1-6 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
[SUP]4 [/SUP] In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
[SUP]5 [/SUP] To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

I say he was being righteous, and expected the Church to agree with his judgment of that man. They obeyed.

Not judging sinners that willfully and openly sin in the midst of the Church, and especially a professing Christian in the general community, is there identified as a corruption of community morality. The welfare of the sinner in this life in the flesh was not a consideration at all. Paul put the church in Corinth in a tough spot for not using wisdom.

If none are willing to judge a murderer, could it happen that there would be more murderers and murders? How about burglars?
Why judge anyone who does wrong? For starters, maybe incentive for many not to take up a life of crime? One is judged, that being a lesson for all who know about the judged one.

All sin is alike? Not according to the Bible.
Proverbs 6:16-19 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
[SUP]17 [/SUP] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[SUP]18 [/SUP] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[SUP]19 [/SUP] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

The law of Moses spelled out various condemnations according to severity of sins. Some sins only resulted in a sinner needing to be ritually cleansed before attending worship. Some required immediate stoning to death. We ought to be able to recognize that the Law serves to educate us about what sin is, and above all, lead us to Christ.

God is not on record saying all sins are equal.

People who would rather compromise like the Corinthians did tend to excuse sin in that manner, not willing to risk losing a friend. Add to that those who are "blackmailed" by the Devil because they hold onto willful sin, so can't rightly judge.[/QUOT

Paul was talking to the church in Corinth. Should he judge them? certainly. He wasn't out judging every non christian in his path. I'm not sure exactly what was said by the woman, but based on what I've been reading here regarding what she said, I cannot and will not judge her, nor the homosexual (not homosexuality) she defended. It's not my place, her place your yours. Our job is specifically to LOVE our "enemies". Treating them poorly and refusing to welcome them anywhere near you or your family is a disgrace. I'm glad if she defended them, in that respect, if that was the case.

There is so much talk on judging within this thread that I think God should speak here. Matthew 7:1-5 reads, Judge not
that ye be not judged.
For with what judgement ye judge,ye shall be judged:and with what measure ye mete,it shall be measured to you
again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thou brothers eye,but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother,'let me pull out the mote out of thine eye';and, behold,a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye;and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the
mote out of thy brothers eye.

Here we see that a christian clearly has the authority to judge homosexuals as long as he or she is not committing the same sin in regards to that point.

Recently Dolly Parton, owner of Dollywood theme parks came out in support of gays and lesbians, calling Christians who judge them "sinners". The kicker is that Miss Parton makes a rather tidy sum of money off Dollywood which has gospel groups sing regularly there at the park. Many Christians support Dollywood for its family atmosphere.I for one, will not be supporting Miss Parton or Dollywood in the future. And Christians should do the same.Any thoughts?

I haven't heard that.

Where's your proof for this. There are many evil people in the world that hate what she has stood for, especially family ideals. How do we know you didn't just succumb to propaganda, especially since you offered no proof in the OP?

DP this is an old post,I have no idea who started up again. At that time this story was all over the news so I didnt need to add a link to the story.I believe somewhere in the posts here I did. Either way she said so on tv and you can google it yourself of you think Im telling a tale. I dont need to offer proof this is a forum not a court room and if you dont believe the story look it up for yourself. I dont appreciate the attitude at all.

In your search engine (like Google) type in "video dolly parton gay" to find plenty of evidence. While I was in the Dixie Stampede, Branson, audience she came on the big screen with her statement.

The video is kept on her own corporate website, plus many followup statements confirming her condemnation of people who judge against homosexuals, specifically against their lifestyle, not their person. Most people in my part of the state don't think they know a single confirmed homosexual, but wouldn't want to know one anyway. God is clearly on record as condemning the practice with the highest order of punishment, requiring their blood of them by capital punishment, that is death by execution. It's a sign of profound ignorance of the Bible to suggest God has reversed his former judgment of that sin. He can't change on issues of his own moral standard, else be found a sinner against his own law.

That isn't what Paul based his commandment to the Corinthians upon. There was no mention that they were to judge the sinning church member only if they were not committing the same sin.

Are you now saying nobody can judge a murderer if they had ever hated a brother or murdered? Jesus equated murder with hatred of someone.

It would be usually impossible to assemble a jury for a trial on that basis.

Mat 7:1-5 has to so with, for example, an alcoholic with 4 DUI's going about pointing out the sin's he perceives are held by other unrepentant sinners. For example he likes to point out homosexuals, while not willing to judge himself, and repent of his own besetting sin bringing him down.

If you think you are disqualified from judging fellow self-professing believers who are entangled in the lust of the world, then it's time for you to get that beam out of your eye so you can do like Paul did, by obeying Jesus' commandment in Matthew 7:5 (KJV) Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

When finally obeying, it then becomes obvious to act upon Romans 16:17-18 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Not speaking up for Jesus and against sin is giving in to the Devil. When sinners are noisy, saints speechless, sin reigns.

Will you stand by winking at those who are deceiving the ordinary folk? Many people can't answer for God when facing such sinners, unable to judge anyway. Most don't know what God said about sin or righteousness, having only their upbringing knowledge. It's why Christians are supposed to preach the gospel to all possible hearers. A large part of the gospel of Christ is the teaching of the apostles, all who made clear how we ought to deal with sin in ourselves and others.

Could be that you are splitting hairs here friend. My interpretation to Matthew 7:1-5 lends toward the verses saying, that if one is practicing the same sin as the one he is judging then he is a hypocrite and should be cautious. We all are sinners Word_Swordsman,You and I commit so many sins and offences against God everyday that we could never count them all so by your own interpretation that would disqualify us from judging anyone.

I like my Heavenly Father, do not condone the sin of homosexuality. I've just never heard Dolly support it.

If your interpretation disagrees with other scriptures dealing with judging, then either your interpretation is wrong or other scriptures are wrong, or out of context.

So why not measure Mt 7:1-5 by 1 Cor 5:1-6? Paul held all the Christians at Corinth responsible for tolerating that one man's sin. He demanded they cast the man out of fellowship, to not even eat with him. Doubtless there were many of them having to frequently repent of yet another sin that pops up, but Jesus set a difference in sins. Some are relatively specks, some splinters, some beams, and in another place a tiny gnat or camel sized sin.

The whole idea of Mt 7:1-5 is not to be an accuser when refusing to judge yourself of yuor own besetting sin that might be far larger than theirs. Instead of prohibiting judging other altogether, it commands us to get the sin out of ourselves first, daily according to other scriptures. Jesus and the apostles concentrated on dying to sin daily, rising up in righteousness.

I'll point it out again. Why won't you repent of those sins, get them out of you? I sin occasionally, not by intent, staying just one immediate confession away from being clean again so I can work with good conscience and minister effectively.

She did this to keep the gay community comeing back to dollywood.
