Some people claim to be Christians, but their fruit looks bad. We are known by our fruits. Those people will say I may have stepped out of line a little on that issue, but God knows my heart. Yes He does and he can spot a fake, even before the faker knows he is faking. Those people will say that they know Jesus, but the real issue is Does Jesus know them?
It is a Heart Condition.

21 “Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter God’s kingdom. The only people who will enter are those who do what my Father in heaven wants. 22 On that last Day many will call me Lord. They will say, ‘Lord, Lord, by the power of your name we spoke for God. And by your name we forced out demons and did many miracles.’

dennis62, you are quoting from a corrupt translation, one designed to hide the real reason Jesus will reject these Christians. The King James says:

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:23

"Iniquity" is from the word anomia which means lawlessness. These are the Christians who refuse to accept the Bible definition of sin ("for sin is the transgression of the law" [1 John 3:4]). They have been tempted, and have fallen for the teaching (antinomian) that Christianity is all grace and no law. Don't fall for it!
 
True, whose to blame for this. We as believers want to know the LOrd, and fellowship with other believers in a church atmosphere. Many have been decieved, to live a life not in a way that the Lord Jesus would want them, there are thousands of churchs, and just as many people who stray, and say, church is all about money. Not love. We are to follow Jesus not another, he said, my sheep know my voice, another they will not follow.
