Should have known you all would find a way to derail the thread.
To answer my own question, I'm probably most like Iron Man (independent, argumentative, sarcastic) though I would like to be more like Captain America and thus act more like him.
The ladies find Thor attractive.
It isn't just Chris Hemsworth's body. They guy is your typical knight in shining armor by the end of the movie. He also has his own kingdom).

Thor is the whole package! LOL. I have seen the movie twice opening week and plan to see it again very, very soon and I smile every time Thor shows up...and Ironman, just because I love his attitude. I'd date Thor and let Ironman rescue me if I were in distress.

Off topic question, but when I saw the Avengers I totally did not see the point of Scarlett Johansson's character 'Black Widow'. The movie gave the vague impression she was once an evil Russian really good at killing people for her own purposes (with only guns, no super powers except how red her hair is) now with a guilt complex and an interesting relationship with Hawkeye.
I don't like movies who throw in a irrelevant girl character just for the sake of representing the female viewer. I would have been quite happy with just the male leads.
Oh wait my husband just told me shes a part of the original comics. Still whats the point of her?

My dad said she didnt have a big part in the comic, was quite small, I reckon the maon reason she was in the movie was for the sex appeal lol!

I don't think you have to have super powers to be a superhero. Hawkeye didn't. Nor does Batman. Oh wait, I forgot, Batman is D.C. But really, I was trying to figure out what her purpose was in the movies, too. I think she is supposedly the intelligence operative for the group, aka, the spy. That's the only thing I can figure. So, in future movies, she might be the recon person. but I don't know.

What's the point of any of them? Basically the way it works in the comics is somebody comes up with an idea for a character and then puts them into a story. There's not much rhyme or reason to it. The Black Widow has been an Avenger for a long time, and there's little doubt that a lot of the motivation for such characters is that the target audience has a certain appreciation for female protagonists with lots of guns, lots of attitude, and and a form-fitting costume. In any case, the Black Widow is a fairly major character in the comics despite a lack of powers. (As noted, many super heroes and villains don't have powers.)
An intentional and recurring theme in the Justice League comics is how in many situations Batman is consistently able to upstage heavy hitters like Superman and Green Lantern despite his lack of powers.
