DEC 25TH: The beginning of Christianity or a Pagan Holiday? Let's take a closer look.
We start with Luk 1:5 kjv
"There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth."
The course of Abijah, or course of Abia, mentioned in Luk 1:5 was one of the 24 divisions of priests. See chapter 1Chr 24. Each course served for a specific period of time during the year and each course served for one week at a time, and the priests would fulfill their duties during that week.
According to historical Jewish tradition and calculations based on the Jewish calendar, The course of Abia (1Chr 24:10) month correspond to June 13-19 when Zacharias served his course of Abia. After serving the course Zacharias would have left for home to impregnate Elizabeth with John baptist,. Because of Sabbath day to follow the course, Zacharias would have started his walk home around the 21st of June in the Gregorian calendar.
We know that John the Baptist was six months older than Jesus (Luke 1:36). Based on this timeline, counting forward 6 months from the conception of John the baptise (sometime shortly after June 22nd) would get us real close to December 25th. John leaping in the womb (Luk 1:41) at the announcement was the first act of celebrating the beginning of Christianity, which has been traditionally celebrated on December 25th, Christ-mas
Therefore, by considering the timing of the priestly courses, the relationship between John the Baptist and Jesus, and the traditional celebration of Christmas on December 25th, we can see how the timeline aligns to place Jesus' conception on December 25th.
If we count nine months from December 25th, it would lead to late September for the potential birth date of Jesus. This timeline aligns with the Feast of of Archangels on Sept 29. Also The feast of the archangels is a christian celebration that was not done in jewish tradition, like the feast of tabernacles. Yet no reason is given for this feast day of Archangels to start? What event triggered the start of this feast day of the archangels? Obviously to celebrate a feast day for centuries. There was an event that triggered the first feast day of the archangels. I'm presenting that Jesus Christ's birth was the event that triggered the new feast day of the archangels, that help protect us.
Therefore, the timing of the Feast of Archangels does align closely with a potential timeline for Jesus' birth, to be around late September based on the traditional celebration of Christmas on December 25th.
While the exact date may vary by a day or two, now, in retrospective, the alignment of these events around December 25th underscores the spiritual significance and joy associated with the birth of Jesus. This perspective emphasizes the faith-based understanding of Christmas as a celebration of the miraculous incarnation of Jesus and the dawn of a new era for humanity.
Sidenote; Also note the traditional Feast of the Tabernacles is about the same time but a little later into October.
