So I know it sounds strange but hear me out. The idea I have is we find several wise and experienced, also willing people who are obviously after god's heart to take some people under their wing to teach and mentor them in the ways of the lord. I know when I first became a christian i was looking for someone to teach and mentor me.

And even now i love to learn anything i can to bring me closer to the lord and his ways. Now I know the conversations would have to be private and not in public, and we would have to pick someone who can be trusted completely to moniter and make sure the mentors don't turn out to be people who force their agenda on people.

Probably won't happen but thought I would put this out there
 
Wasn't that what the Deeper Walk and Answers (was that the title) chat group was for? Maybe we could just get that going again.
 
That might be a good idea - do you suppose we could keep bad doctrine out and just teach the babes in Christ truth backed up by the Bible?

I agree. Unfortunately the same people who flood the Bible discussion forum with bad doctrine and blatant herecies would frequent a discipleship forum likewise trying to sway new converts to their way of thinking.
 
Discipleship is probably best done in person on a one on one basis too.
