Seems to be a few posts that deliverance ministries have something to do with demonic possession.
For me a genuine believer cannot be possessed by a demon but they can be oppressed, we can give through actions give a foothold to Satan.
Ephesians 4:26-27
“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
I have come alongside married couples whose marriage is on the rocks and mostly it comes down to the above.
Now to when going deeper it actually goes back a lot further in their lives.
Thats just a simple example.
To me deliverance ministry has nothing to do with casting out demons that possess a Christian because Christians cannot be possessed by Satan.
Satan and the Holy Spirit cannot coexist in a believer, even though some think it is the case.
I think given my limited knowledge that deliverance ministry should be along the lines of,
Ok you have a problem(s).
What are they, what are the thoughts that are causing the action?
Lets get to the root of the problem.
Now if we get to the root what is the answer.
To me the answer is to be set free.
You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Whom is that truth? Jesus
The truth is to set us free from lies, the lies of Satan whether it be God doesn't love you or it's ok to sin God will forgive you.
A spider web of lies.
The Holy Spirit will untangle the web if we let him.
This may involve healing and repentance not only of sin but also of unbelief.
The biggest thing I have find that binds us is unforgivness. It wraps us up in chains.
As Demi says it's Jesus that sets us free and not man.
Renewing of mind and full armour of God comes to mind for me.

Thats what it is, but I would like add that a person seeking for issues firstly need to be safe in the environment they are putting themselves in. No one is gonna bare all unless they have come to trust someone.
Thats why we need Godly spirit filled men and women, who don't condemn but don't make excuses and allow Jesus to set the prisoner free.
The thing is she never even said who it was for or if it was even for a believer or not she kind of just posted and went mia but I prayed for anyways
I hear what you are saying.
Just responded on the assumption it was for a believer whether it be for her or someone else. Was assuming that it wasn't not to help an unbeliever.

So: I see you are from Russia, if you can, seek out a local congregation and ask the pastor, maybe he will be able to guide you to someone.
Im sure there must be some pentecostal churches in Russia yes? They're everywhere so try them out!
Hope you find what you are seeking for. There might be a lot of phonies in the deliverance 'circles' but trust me there are genuine believers out there.

I had a good friend last fall who was depressed, and thought it was possession or oppression. I tried very hard to dissuade her, but she was obsessed with the supernatural.
So she had this 2 hour deliverance ministry thing performed over/on/under etc, her. She was drained and devastated! In fact, I would go so far as to say it almost destroyed her. She still has not recovered from the deliverance session!
I beg you not to do this thing.
On another aspect of this topic, a FB friend who has fibromyalgia and bipolar disorder, was in a lot of pain. This deliverance person came onto her post and started screaming it was all demons, and she needed to be delivered. When my friend denied that her disease was caused by demons, then this same so-called friend started screaming at her that her mental illness was demons and she was possessed.
I came along at that point, and soundly rebuked this person and her "deliverance ministry." Her reply was that I didn't know the Word of God. A couple of pages later of me posting, and she gave up, but threatening to study more and come back and show me conclusively demons were the cause of everything.
So, again, please get church members and solid Christians to pray for you. I have had some amazing things happen, especially to my emotions, when prayed for by solid, Bible believing Christians. But do not get sucked into this lie from the devil, craziness, ok?

The Lord spent some time focusing on demons so He could cast them out.. so your post may sound good on the surface but in reality it's pure bull malarkey!
If you really study it out, you will notice that casting out demons was not a majority of the ministry of Jesus. In fact, Jesus said that while we would cast out demons, we should rejoice over the fact our names are written in heaven, not that the spirits are subject to us. If you see how Jesus dealt with demons and the above, you will observe that Jesus showed us that we all will deal with the demonic, but it is not expected to be all we do.
It was not stand alone either like some like to say today. I have witnessed serious damage done to people who go seeking after someone who claims they and they alone are "specially" anointed to deal with demons that others cannot.
I tell people to run from people like that. Anytime you are isolated from the rest of the body, you are in deception. One off specially anointed deliverance ministers do in fact see more devil than God and most always give the devil more power than Jesus Christ and him crucified.
Who said it was???
Obviously our first calling is to be in a close personal relationship with the Lord... none the less, the New Testament contains warnings and instructions on the fact that the enemy is always gunnin for us so we need to be on the ready just like any soldier in the field of battle.
But, I agree that if that's all minster talks about... they are in the ditch on one side, then you got these other folks that have no clue what to do about the devil and those are sissys pants in the ditch on the other side.
I think that was a little uncalled for, if i knew of a deliverance ministry to help her I would have posted it but that doesn't mean any of us made two pages of empty remarks. Honestly I don't even know if she is coming back or not but maybe if she explains her situation we can help better because what she needs may not be a deliverance ministry
All good responses that Im very grateful for. This site is so good. I remembered God saying if we confess our faults and pray for one another we will be healed. I got caught up looking at occultic videos on youtube combined with sexual sins. I messed up big time and I wanted to see if I could have someone cast out the demons that I opened myself up to.
I see, well don't worry God's grace is more than enough and also no worries about those demons just give me some boxing gloves lol (put em up demons right jab left jab dodge)
I've been thinking about this post, and where on earth in the Bible does anyone have something called a "deliverance ministry?" But some say - it is there by inference, since Jesus and the disciples cast out demons.
But the ministry of Jesus was not deliverance, but one of compassion, love and caring. He had many different ways of healing people, he also fed the hungry by miracles, and did other things that were in no way considered to be "deliverance." Jesus ministry was part of establishing who he was, and how he fulfilled Isa. 61:6 in Luke 4:
"The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,
because He has anointed Me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent Me
to proclaim freedom to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set free the oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor." Luke 4:18-19
Hm! It doesn't even say anything about demons in this important prophecy fulfilled in Jesus. Nothing!
So what does the Bible say to do in difficult cases?
"Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray over him after anointing him with olive oil in the name of the Lord." James 5:14
This is the biblical model! Call for the elders! These should be mature Christians strong in their faith and holiness. Then anoint with oil, the oil being symbolic of the Holy Spirit. Then PRAY for the person!
