Firstly, I am not sure if I am in the right category/topic. But will still proceed on typing anyway.

Depression - I'm not sure if people really experience this at one point in their lives...but I am really feeling this at this moment. I know God is the source of happiness. But I think the enemy is really good at inserting some negative thoughts on my head...I became anti-social and started drifting away from friends and church...

I realized that I need to do something, so I started attending Sunday service again to hear His words...and to have a support group that can encourage me. But, the enemy is still putting some thoughts on my head. It's really hard. When I'm alone, these thoughts of being worthless and not loved are still in my head. Some things at home also contribute to my depression. The enemy is also injecting suicide thoughts in my head. But the fear of hell is the only thing that keeps me on doing it.

I need a friend, I need a hug. Most importantly, I need your prayers right now.

Quite a few of the members of this site suffer from this including myself. You are not alone. I recommend the thread started by blue_ladybug dealing with this. You have my prayers.

Depression comes from many areas. It can be a problem in the brain, or the body. It can be a temporary thing, or a life long struggle. Some can overcome it with some lifestyle changes and learning new ways to cope with stress, while others may require medication.
While undoubtedly Satan can use the problems that come up within us, some of these problems can have physical roots. Going to a doctor and and having him run tests to check your body is a good start. Sometimes hormones or other things get out of whack and affect us. If physical issues don't find anything then some counseling could help.
And making sure you eat a decent diet, stay on a regular sleep pattern and get exercise are also proven ways to deal with depression. Avoid medications unless things get too bad. Medication should be a last resort when nothing else works.
And, of course, continuing to pray and read are important as well.

It's not as easy as it sounds but you must bring all thoughts captive and cast down everything that exaltation it's selfish above the word of God.. exaltation above says that it overrides and it doesn't. Nothing is more powerful nor truer than God's word..
You gotta know what the words says as well and counterattack..
It takes determination and strength.. I pray you fight to persist

As tourist recommended, please read my depression thread below in my signature. And check out my CC faith book, found in the Miscellaneous forum at the top of page 1. And feel free to pm me anytime.. :)

*hug*

I think that most people experience some degree of depression at some point in their lives, but
thoughts of suicide are always a warning sign, If thoughts of suicide return, call a hotline! Do not be alone with that kind of thoughts. Also, talk to your doctor (or find counselling in your area that deals with depression)

- Lord, I pray that you let BC feel your presence. Let her know you care. Show her that light defeats darkness by lifting her depression and drawing her close to you. Amen

the devil is a liar, and he will do anything to keep you from living in your God-given authority, and your God-given purpose.
things will get better, and life won't always be the way it is now.

you are worth more than you could ever imagine, blue. you are loved perfectly by your King.
the enemy trembles when you walk according to the will of your Father, which is why he attacks you. the enemy knows his time is short.. but you have victory that he could never experience. Jesus will be your strength.

just know that God knows you more intimately and perfectly than anyone ever can or will. He numbered the hairs on your head and knit you together in your mother's womb. The thoughts He has for you are to prosper you, give you hope and a future, life and life more abundantly. He knows your hurts, and even keeps every tear you shed in a bottle. there is nothing He does not see, nothing He does not know. He says to you, "daughter, you are beautiful. I created you in fear and wonder. Place your faith in Me, your hope in Me, your trust in Me; I will never let you down. things may get tough, they may look bleak, but know that I see differently than you, and I will never lead you astray. I will make all things work together for your good, because you love Me and are called according to My purpose. I love you so much."

we love you, sis, and we're here for you. i am proud of you for continuing onward, for pressing in and being open with brothers and sisters in Christ. i know depression can be crippling, and when you feel your self-worth is little to none. may God richly bless you and show you the depths of His love.

Ephesians 3:16-21 New King James Version (NKJV)

16
that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18
may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—
19
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
21
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Thank you all - I thank God for your hearts. As I read your messages/prayers, I cried and was reminded of His love. Thank you for uttering your prayers for me. And thank you for reminding me of God's love and His big plans for me. I'll fight this battle with God.

@blue_ladybug - I read your stories, and they inspired me. Continue sharing your testimony!

We arent promised this will be easy. Sooo many are faced with the challenge of the enemy trying to take over. Even Jesus had to face the enemy.
What we are promised though is that God never forsakes us. Even when it seems so incredibly hopeless, and I know those times (refer to my blog post) God never leaves us to deal with all of this on our own. Do NOT end your life. You have sooo much to live for. You are a beloved child of God, made in his heavenly image. You are so greatly treasured. All these trials in this broken world leads to eternal life with no tears if you keep your eyes locked on Him. Nothing else will get you through this world. Only God has the ability for that. And when you need rest you can rest in His loving arms, and when you need strength pray and confess and ask for strength because there is no earthly struggle that the strength of the LORD can't handle. I am praying for you ♡

I really appreciate your words and prayer, Natania. Your message warmed my heart and it made me smile. Thank you for reminding me how big our God is.

Sister. In a way these attacks by the enemy can be reassuring in the sense that he doesn't really attack those that aren't God's children. Remember that whether you are feeling joy or depression, anxiety or security, IT IS ONLY TEMPORARY. TRUTH is forever, and our truth rests on Jesus and His finished work.
Dear Heavenly Father, please give your daughter the reassuring Grace by letting feel Your Presence in her life and heart. Increase ALL of our desire to love You and each other. In Jesus mighty Name I pray.

You do realize that the enemy is the one putting thoughts in your head, ignore them, treat anything from the enemy as white noise, meaningless words, it could be anything, the content of the speech is formulated to snag, so disregard the meaning and discard it as an enemy attempt.

try to imagine the last day he sent those thoughts in your head, what was your day or what would your day have been like if the enemy was not targeting you. What your day would have been like, is life without the enemy, every other factor of it would be your current senario, without those thoughts popping into your head, would your life be good? if so, your life is good and you're just being lied to.

Resist it and enjoy a good life, and the enemy will start to see there's no reason to mess with you if you enjoy it anyway.

think about dealing with the enemy, the enemy shows up, uses some tactic like inserting thoughts into your head which you haven't figured out how to do, to make you feel he is more powerful, and so he can hide and still talk, he tries to make you feel weak so you act weak, cut you off from things that could help you until he is in your mind, tries to lead you to things that would hurt you so you become weakened, then, when you decide to go for help, he tries to destroy you, suddenly thoughts of unworth become thoughts of suicide, thoughts of questioning become thoughts of rebellion, he makes you scared and tries to turn you away from help, but the reality is he is scared, if you do successfully get rid of him, the situation shows you and those who see it that his kingdom is weak, fallible and beatable. and that he himself is weak and beatable, how then will he make those who see that hopeless?

There are better reasons to survive than being afraid of myth, Think of everything you like, from the big to the small, whether you like some old decoration from 3 years ago you never took down, or the people at the congregation, to living in the presence of He. Or simply, would you really want to accept death because some lowly thing decided to mess with you, take all that from you over what, a spirit that is despised no one likes anyway. Do not even listen to the content of the enemies words, you know how things should be and you know he's trying to take everything from you so ignore it.
