Perhaps God was speaking to homosexuality of the day?
It certainly would fit today's, transgender homosexual movement?
Deuteronomy 22:5KJV
5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.
Men should look and dress like men, and women should look and dress like women.
Yes it applies today.. men should wear traditional mens clothing and woman should wear traditional womans clothing..
I would think that law was needed to protect the creation of mankind, two working together as one creation. Not two separate creations.

What God has joined together Satan calls separate. And what God calls separate the father of lies calls it one. In the same way what God calls inspired from the unseen heavens the father of lies earthly inspired by his lies. Turning things upside down.
As sons of God according to 1 John we are not what we will be as His eternal bride. No male nor female, neither Jew nor gentile.
Satan the god of this world is behind homosexuality and all sexual perversion.
He would have mankind beleive what the eyes see. . is the end of the matter .
His lying spit at the forefront of every attempt to take away the virtue God's given difference. . Again as if it was all one and the same thing. unisex . . if it feels good do the pleasure of sin like there is no tomorrow.
As only Israel is under the Law, it only applies to them. The Christian is not under the Law of Moses, and nor are the Gentiles. This law was set because God is a God of order. He made the genders unique and set the differences. To cross-clothe overthrows that order. Leviticus 18:23 and 20:12 show the mind of God. It is a "confusion". Also, the word "hypocrite" comes from a Greek word which means, "to me masked like an actor". A cross-clother is one who lies to people about who they really are.
Israel, ruling with El or prince with El.
Are not all who believe to rule with our Father, not as He by any means but as His children?
Just a curious thought. We are all members of the Body of Yeshua. It stands to reason anything directed at the true Israel is the Word, albeit clarified by our Great Rabbi.

I think understanding that the law came from the curse of adam And eve would tell us that it doesn’t apply to those in Christ . But was a result of eves curse being differentiated from Adam , whereas beforehand they were one.
adam was placed above eve only because she listened first to the serpent and led to thier downfall it was part of the curse beforehand they were both made in Gods image, not needing to separate
women are told to wear long hair as a covering also because of the curse , are made subject to thier husband also because of the curse . The law must be understood as Gods response to mankind’s sinfulness coming as a result of the curse it wasn’t from the beginning
Gods design for man and woman is what we have in Christ no distinction
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

woman is made subject to her husband here as a result of the curse of sin and death
“Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

the law then comes much later as a result of the beginning fall. So in the law you have a severe distinction between
Men and women taking the form of the curse. So in that law you have a bunch of carnal commands to reveal the destruction of the curse of sin upon man . In Christ however we see a return to Gods design
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:28 KJV
God doesn’t care what a person wears if it’s decent and not provocative , he cares about how we treat other people. When a woman dresses provocatively , it provokes lust in some men or the opposite . So how we dress needs to be respectable and all but honestly I don’t think it’s about the clothes we wear in Christ but more About those fine linens wire and clean he promises for our lives
I suggest you do a "search" to find out what the Apostle Paul taught concerning this. I believe he speaks of how women should dress/adorn themselves, and how both men and women are to conduct themselves.
Those parts of the Old Testament that were carried over into the New Testament by the Apostles in their writings are still in effect for the Church today in my opinion.
I did a Google search on the meaning of Deuternomy 22:5. What kind of search do you think would be good to look into?
in the day that this was written, men and women alike generally wore single-piece tunics. a woman's tunic might be slightly longer, have brighter colors or be of a bit finer weave.
so what do we mean by 'traditional' -- traditional for who? whatever culture we happen to find ourselves in?

I couldn't agree more
It is just as valid today -- probably even more so -- than it was at that time.
The clothes people wear outwardly are indeed an expression of who they are. We ought not to imagine that clothes make no difference to the impression we created. All believers are within a Royal Priesthood. So when you see how God instructed His Levitical priests to dress, it is meant to be a lesson to Christians.
How would someone apply it today?
I am a lady and have a wardrobe of women's clothes, and yet I also have two men's long sleeve outerwear. Both have a plaid pattern which type of pattern I have seen in both men's and women's clothing.
Is this verse is more for someone who wants to dress as the opposite gender and present themselves looking more as the opposite gender or does it mean something else?

I have never heard of Gucci. I don't like these three looks in the picture to be honest.
