Jesus and the Apostles quoted from the OT hundreds of times in order to support what they were saying, so it doesn't work to interpret them as speaking against following what they considered to be an authoriatibr source. For example, Jesus quoted three times from Deuteronomy in order to defeat the temptations of Satan, which included saying that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God (Deuteronomy 8:3), so he affirmed God as still being an authoritative source. In Deuteronomy 12:32, it is a sin to add to or subtract from the law, so Jesus did not do that. In Deuteronomy 13, the way that God instructed to determine that someone is a false prophet is if they speak against obeying what He has spoken, so there are not good grounds for interpreting Mark 7:19 as Jesus speaking against obeying what God spoke in Deuteronomy 14 in regard to refraining from eating unclean animals, especially considering the fact that he criticized Pharisees as being hypocrites for setting aside the commands of God in Mark 7:1-13. Jesus as speaking in regard to the tradition of the elders about whether someone could become common by eating bread with unwashed hands, so he was not even speaking about eating animals or about what kinds of things are acceptable to eat.

Yes, Mark 7 speaks very plainly! Jesus was talking to the multitude about food.

Some people are bent on twisting the Scripture, anyway. Jesus said, they’re without understanding!!

You are interpreting the Bible in a way that turns it against obeying what God has commanded, so it is strange that you would accuse others of twisting Scripture. Moreover, we should still obey what God has commanded even if your interpretation were correct.

You're the one twisting Scripture to claim that the law given to ancient Israel applies to modern Christians.

In the New Testament in Mark 7:19- Jesus Christ declared that all foods are clean. In Leviticus chapter 11 - It declares swine unclean and if it has no fins and scales and is found in water it is unclean. Leviticus chapter 11 verses Mark 7:19.

You are unjustifiably insisting that your interpretation of Mark 7:19 is correct while ignoring the major problems that I raised with it.

Apparently the translators interpreted "cleansing all foods' to mean Jesus declared all food to be clean. That's not a good interpretation, IMO, but Jesus did declare all food to be clean by saying unclean foods don't enter the heart, and therefore can't defile a man, ie, make him unclean.
You cannot add or take away from God's Word, that is the standard laid out, and they clearly corrupted the text to say nothing of the twisting of Christ words or manipulation of truth.

The Old Testament was a physical covenant with physical laws, and ordinances, and holy days.

Since Jesus did the will of the Father and obeyed Him then He would advocate the Old Testament for the New Testament was not in affect yet.

Jesus would of followed the law of clean and unclean animals.

Mat 15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
Mat 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Mat 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Mat 15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Mar 7:18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
Mar 7:19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
Mar 7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

meats
brōma
bro'-mah
From the base of G977; food (literally or figuratively), especially (ceremonial) articles allowed or forbiden by the Jewish law: - meat, victuals.

This means meats in general whether lawful or unlawful.

Jesus was not explaining that all meat is clean for that is not the point.

He is saying the stomach purges the dirt which purges the meats, food, of the dirt so it is alright.

The point is dirt eating with dirty hands which the Pharisees had a tradition to not eat with unwashen hands.

But Jesus explained the dirt does not defile the person for it goes in and then comes back out.

Their tradition was useless for it had nothing to do with defiling the person making them wrong in the eyes of God.
Which Jesus went against them because of their traditions that had nothing to do with the law of God and not required to do which they had them jumping through hoops of tradition.

The Roman Catholic Church is terrible at doing this and saying tradition is equal to the word of God.

Jesus followed the Old Testament including clean and unclean animals because the New Testament.

The New Testament is a spiritual covenant and the physical laws do not apply.

And there is power by the Spirit on the side of the saints where it was not there in the Old Testament.

1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

This is speaking of the new age christianity that shall come out at the latter times which they are of the occult and believe people will evolve to be spiritual, and Jesus became an ascended master, and there is no personal God.

They will forbid to marry for a man and woman, population reduction.

And command to abstain from meats, reverence of nature.

But God said He created both for mankind to them which believe the truth.

Which God said for every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

All meat is good to eat now for it is sanctified for it is a spiritual covenant now.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Jesus took the physical laws, and ordinances, of Israel out of the way nailing them to His cross for they were contrary to us because they have not bearing on spiritual salvation.

Which includes meats were taken away the law of not eating unclean animals.

So do not let any person judge you in meats for we can eat any meat we want in the New Testament.

As long as it is not sacrificed unto idols and you know about it.

Many people believe we cannot eat unclean animals as stated in the Old Testament.

Even though we can eat what we want if people say we cannot eat pork or shellfish for it is unclean and wrong it is a sin even though it is alright.

Which you know some people that say do not eat the unclean animals they will do it like they are hypocritical.

Wuz you talkin' bout Willis.

I am not believing what you say.

I do not believe clean and unclean animals is about their behavior.

The Bible does not say do not eat this animal or eat this animal because of their behavioral traits compatible with us.
Amen!!
🎉

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Maybe it would be prudent for His followers to do the same..
Maybe it would be prudent for SDA to obey the instruction of Paul to keep their noses out of other people's business. Colossians 2:16 and

"They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creation of God is good, and nothing that is received with thanksgiving should be rejected, because it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer." 1 Timothy 4: 3-5

There is key information you didn’t address: the dietary laws were given to Israel, not to everyone. Modern Christians are not ancient Israelites.

Further, the dietary laws are part of the old Sinai covenant. Christians are under the new covenant in Christ’s blood.

Dino, you are missing major points -- one must be or become an Israelite to be under the New Covenant.

33 But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

not with gentiles nor with christians -- the House of Israel and Paul confirmed it also.

and When Christ took the Israelite's out of Egypt they were to become lights to the entire world, perfect examples for the world to follow and it was stated they were give better laws.

Sorry dino -- the Torah IS THE LAW of God and until the entire world lives by that PERFECT LAW there will be no peace no safety.

Tell me what you see going on now in this evil world --- if only a few of the 10 Commandments were obeyed, the change would be unbelievable.

just the one on lying would change our government.

Galatians 3:23-28
But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
Sons and Heirs
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Try reading the New Testament. You might be surprised. God includes the gentiles in the gospel. Did you not know that Lord Jesus preached to the Samaritan woman who shared the gospel with the whole village?

Do you not know that in Abraham ALL the families of the earth would be blessed? Israel was supposed to bless all the nations. They failed miserably. God has bypassed them for the time being.

I suggest that you read Romans 9, 10 and 11.

Surely you know that the law has no power to change the heart? If the law could be obeyed, Jesus died for nothing. The Law has a purpose and that is to lead us to Christ.

I take it you are sacrificing animals so that your sins can be forgiven. And that you are going to the Temple in Jerusalem three times a year. Oh, you can't. So you can't obey the law.

I'm abit of a simpleton
But does Paul somewhere deal with this very subject and clearly drew a line under
Implying
Each to his own
Or am I misremembering something
I'm sorry I don't have the gift of chapter and verse
Just
Childlike understanding
Maybe it's childlike misunderstanding
But Paul definitely discussed it
It would be most unlike him to bring something up and not provide teaching

New International Version “For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
English Standard Version “since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)
New American Standard Bible “because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?” (Thus He declared all foods clean.)

So why did all the old versions of the Bible not contain this portion, and why do the new versions carry it within brackets? The Original Greek Manuscripts do not carry “In saying this, Jesus declared” which is in the new versions of Mark 7:19.

This had been a later addition by some of the translators, its not what the Bible had, just a decision by the translators of the modern versions to add “(In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean)” was valid. Well lets look at the context of the chapter in Mark leading up to verse 19 and see if it is about eating any food, or eating food according to the traditions of man. We begin with Mark 7:1-4..
Mark 7:1-5
1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

We see here that the story begins with the Pharisees accusing some of Jesus disciples of not washing their hands before eating bread according to the “tradition of the elders”. Now the Pharisees had their own laws they had made up and told others they had to follow in addition to God’s Law, and this is what Christ addresses in the verses that proceed.
Mark 7:6-9
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

He starts by quoting Isaiah 29:13, showing their hypocrisy saying, that they honor God with their mouth but their hearts are far from Him as we see in 'honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.' And that in vain they worship Him, teaching commandments of men for 'doctrine'. Jesus goes further on their mistake showing that they are laying aside God’s Commandments and are holding onto the 'traditions of men', which include their ideas of 'washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.' He says that they reject 'reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.' And He tells them they make God’s Word of no effect by their traditions, 'Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.' Is He saying that God’s direction on clean and unclean foods are of no use because whatever we eat is purged out of the stomach. Of course not, as we can see the whole context He was talking of was the 'tradition of man' the Pharisees had added, and declaring them hypocrites for making what God had given on clean and unclean, as they had the Law, Void. Putting in their own 'traditions'.

If you look at what Jesus taught them one of those things was

“And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: there is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:14-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What is Jesus teaching here ? I think this type of thing is probably why they added the parenthesis in n the contemporary verses often be repeats his lessons or we hear more from the apostles about it

“For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: for the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:2-3, 13-

It’s not really tradition it seems but more if we are hearing his word in the gospel he seems to be saying “ what you eat isn’t going to make you unclean “

here is the kicker if I already know and have my trust in Moses law before I hear Jesus saying that , it’s going to cause me a lot of issues and a conflict and even act as a blinding agent or veil wheras I can’t quite accept what Jesus is saying because …. Moses taught thoroughly , something different about food and what we eat …..

“and not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: but their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament;

which vail is done away in Christ.

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:13-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus is the word we need to base our beliefs upon it’s hard to hear for many but he taught contrary things from Moses
