That is not simple. that is complicated.

Because every religion in the world wants to have their say in what the "But" refers to. That's far to complicated, which one, or which church is right (the churches can nt even agree to what the "but" refers to) ll you have is confusion

Jesus answered that question. with no confusion.

I an the way the truth and the life, no one comes through the father, unless they come through me (the cross)

No and's if's or but's about it.

1 THESS
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with walking in holiness.

All I can say is amen.

We are saved though faith in Jesus.
We walk in obedience to Christ.

What I wonder at is why you keep asking the same question. I believe in salvation by faith. I have repeatedly said this.
My concern and people from my background is the antagonism of people against talking about righteousness and purity.

To quote some here, to even mention morals was to bring condemnation. This reality is now being hidden is a blatant attack about works that simply does not exist.

What I have noticed in these discussions is so many do not understand their sinful attitudes and approach and acts yet call themselves saved and walking in Christ. I understand this is young believers but not people who claim faith over 20 years or more. Or worse still people saying just talking about purity is admiting we have compromised our understanding of righteousness. It is seriously annoying to be told you are not saved or walking with Christ because I do not hold with OSAS.

It does not change my walk or approach if people invent problems or just try and accuse me of sin or failure but not actually say in what. That is just being unhelpful.

All the Children of God have a different spiritual age.Baby Christians have to grow up in full age. They can't use their senses to exercise to discern both good and evil.Sometime

They don't feel secure in Internal Salvation.Sometime they feel guilty. They need to grow up in full spiritual age and more spiritual care from adults Christians. To support this idia, take a read next few verses, KJV,Hebrews5;12-14,And they have to put aside fleshy attitude and desire the sinsere milk of the Word,And they can grow up on this way.KJV,1Peter2;1-2.Its nothing wrong with that.If thay pass this baby's age as soon as possible. The all of us have been in this age.

What works do you do that an unbeliever can't?

How many sins do you commit a day?

Why do you keep insisting that you can justify yourself by your works?

"To the one who does not work, but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness." (Romans 4:5)

God credits us as righteous apart from works - period.

You claim you believe one is saved by faith alone, and then you go and pull works out of you hat by saying if one doesn't live a certain way, they lose their salvation.

You are mixing grace with works, yet they cannot go together: "If by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace." (Romans 11:6)

Peter, you are simply a modern day Judaizer.

Who were the Judaizers?

Peter, you are simply a modern day Judaizer.

The only reason why you and others are using this idea Judaizer which is linked to being a full Jew to be a christian is you cannot face the principle of walking in righteousness and purity.

Walking in the Kingdom is a gift of God, but we are to walk in purity empowered by the Spirit.
What is difficult to understand at any level is how Paul who encourages Timothy to live a life of purity, is something you are denying.

I have not called this battle into effect you and people like you have. You want to call those who talk of walking in obedience to Christ as legalists. The fruit of your failure is this very accusation.

It is why I am amazed at those who say such pharisical statements, believe that the God of the old testament is the same as Jesus is not heresy, only the one focus is God. Also words like evil about people desiring to walk in righteousness is the beginning of the end. If you condemn good behaviour you have crossed over. Good things are good things from one side of eternity to the other.

Those who OBEY get the Holy Spirit.

Acts 5:32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

After we believe in Christ we are sealed with the Holy Spirit.. Receiving Christ is being " obedient to the faith ".

Ephesians 1:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvationhaving also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

were sealed =
Aorist passive Passive means an action that was done to you - not us doing it.

JESUS PAID FOR EVERY SIN I WOULD EVER COMMIT...and saved me while knowing full well the sins I would commit...where sin abounds..grace did much more abound...to answer your question....God gets all the glory dia Christ! The bible is clear....I have a present continuing result from a past completed action..eternal salvation, forgiveness, justification and sanctification in Christ!!

It's Jesus' blood and Jesus will decide who it is applied to in the end. Jesus Himself said those who love Him will obey Him.

1 John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

John 15:10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love.

Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.

John 14:15 "If you love me, obey my commandments.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Yes, all our sins were future when Jesus died and shed His blood! The blood of the Lamb of God is our security! Our redemption isn't just redemption, it is eternal redemption!

"Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained
eternal redemption for us." Heb 9:12

It's Jesus' blood and Jesus will decide who it is applied to in the end. Jesus Himself said those who love Him will obey Him.

But the Bible says:

"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus" Heb 10:19

How can we have boldness to enter in the presence of God if Jesus has yet to apply the blood to each of us?(for the blood is what washed our sins away-Rev 1:5)If we entered in the presence of God before He saw the blood we would die! If God did not see the blood applied to the lintels in Exo 12:13 the first born would die! It was not enough for the blood to be shed, but it must be applied! If Jesus waits to apply the blood at the end, how do we have any access to God? Just as the high priest in the OT applied the shed blood of animals, so did Jesus our High Priest apply His own blood to the mercy seat in heaven for us!(Hebrews chapter 9)

The Bible also says it is the blood that purges our conscience to serve the living God!

"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" Heb 9:14

Didn't say it's not applied now.

Did the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ pay for all of your sins or not?

Pretty simple question.

There are far too many people these days who believe there are still things they must do to obtain/keep salvation apart from repentance and faith.

But you cannot claim to believe Jesus died to pay for all of your sins, and then add something (or some "things") to the gospel.

Adding anything to salvation nullifies it. To work for a gift means it was never a gift at all.

Either God gets all of the glory for your salvation, or you do.

You can't have it both ways.

I've thought about this many times too before but God is showing us something simple to explain this very easily. If Jesus died for us 2000 years ago, how is it that we are saved when none of us were even born then? We know Jesus died for us and that our sins are paid in full(John 19:28-30). So the simple answer is yes. We are in fact the living proof that present and future sins are already paid by Jesus on the cross! How wonderful! God loves me even before I was born! God forgave me even before I sinned. So, to the person who still doubt, great news, God loves you!

Peace.

Hey sis, Are you sure you do not have it backwards?

Those born again by his washed blood follow Jesus and obey his commands. They are not washed because they follow his commands, That woud be preaching law.

There you go bearing false witness again.

How can you live with yourself when you lie about everyone who disagrees with you?

People call you a judiazer because like them,

1. You preach works earn salvation
2. You praise your good deeds, instead of letting your good deed speak for themselves.
3. You thank God your not like the sinner, When you yourself are a sinner. (the pharisee did not get it, Apparently neither do you. )

4. You preach it is your righteousness, Not Christ's obedience to the cross, which saves you.
The only thing which really seperates you from a jew, is you do not seek to do sacrifice, and you believe (I use that term lightly) that jesus was alive, and died on a cross..

Where have I ever condemned good behavior? I take this "others" you wrote includes me because I'm a grace believer! All four of these points I highlighted are false accusations you keep making. You keep saying faith saves, then you wrap it in good works to maintain salvation(which is salvation by works in disguise). That is the contention we have with your doctrine, but you pretend we are condemning good works as bad. The blood purges our conscience to serve the living God according to Heb 9:14. Grace teaches us to live Godly lives according to Titus 2:11-14, and that is what I've always heard from grace teachers. We have a duty to live Godly lives as believers which is precisely What Romans 12:1-2 says!
