Suppose I tell my son to wear goggles while using the weed-eater. Later I see him using the weed-eater without wearing goggles. He understood the request and the reason for it. He could even consent that the reason for wearing the goggles was for safety. Why did he not wear the goggles?
According to you, because he thought the idea was foolishness. But you just implied, by answering my request, that he believed the advice was accurate and true. So the reason was not that he thought it was foolish. He was foolish, because he knew better, but acted against his better knowledge. It felt more comfortable not to wearing goggles, and was gambling that he would not get an eye injury.

This points back to an earlier question of why God cannot sin. God is wise, so he always acts on what he knows is true and accurate. He cannot be foolish and do things that he knows deny the truth - unlike your son.

ive been reading pages of these posts and trying to figure out where to “jump in”,

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
James 2:19

“Suddenly, a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out, "Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are — the Holy One of God!"”
Mark 1:23,24

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matthew 7:21-23

“But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.”
John 10:26

“And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.”
John 10:16

It seems to me that many who believe they are christians, who make confession with their mouth of Christ and say they are “in Christ” will be turned away, Clearly Jesus knows his sheep and to them is it given to be “in Christ” yet somehow the general consensus among the body of Christ is that they decide if they will be “in christ” and they imagine that anyone on planet earth can be there own God despising the election preordained by the sovereign God before the foundation of the world. Why does “the church” teach doctrine that stands contrary to what God declared through the prophets? Why does “the church” hold fast to prophetic events that dont align with what the prophets spoke concerning the end of the age and of the new heavens and the new earth? I keep seeing theological assertions that stand opposed to the ministry of Christ and of his disciples?
I don't see any reference to "confessing with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord" or "believing in one's heart that Christ rose from the dead" in any of those quotes. Are "saying" and "confessing" always the same thing? "Confessing with the mouth" is always "saying", but "saying" is not always "confessing with the mouth".
"You are the Holy One of God" is not per se a confession that "Jesus is Lord."

He was foolish for thinking it was foolishness. But regardless of what you think about my example, God says the natural man finds truth concerning Him foolishness.

Acts 10:34 – “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons…” To be a respecter of persons is to practise discrimination, favouring certain people and not others.

Does God favor the elect over those who are not of the elect?

ive been reading pages of these posts and trying to figure out where to “jump in”,
Why not, precious friend, 'jump in' in the beginning, and "on topic", eh?:

op: Did Jesus Die on the cross for the just/elect/saved whose names are
Written In The Lamb's Book of Life Or?:

1) Since God Desires all to be saved, then all "names are Written In
The Book Of Life" (Deuteronomy 9:14, 29:20; Revelation 22:19 AV),
eh?:

"The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing
that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
(2 Peter 3:9 AV)
2) Thus, The Good News Is That Christ Died On The Cross for all,
Not 'only the elect', Correct?:

"And He Is The Propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only,
but also for the sins of the whole world." (1 John 2:2 AV)
3) However, The Bad News [ for some of the all ] Is:

"And if any man shall take away from the words of the
book of this prophecy, God Shall Take Away his part out
of The Book Of Life, and out of the holy city, and from the
things which are written in this book."
(Revelation 22:19 cp Deuteronomy 9:14, 29:20 AV)

4) In Today's Age Of God's Wonderful Grace then, when is it that
one's "name is blotted out By God"?:
a) We know this, eh?:

"...behold, Now Is The Accepted Time; behold, Now
Is The Day Of Salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2b AV)
b) And also this [ in-between verses of Christ's Suffering and
Sacrifice For All vs. 26 and 28 ], eh?:
"...And as it is appointed unto men once to die,
but after this The Judgment..." (Hebrews 9:27 AV)
c) Thus, upon death [ "when UNbelievers die in their sin" ],
God "Blots their names Out Of His Book Of Life" and:
5) They "will be at The Great White Throne Judgement," Where
This Most Eternally Devastating News Is Written!:
"And whosoever was not found Written In The Book Of Life
was cast into the lake of fire. " (Revelation 20:15 AV)

Amen.

God's Grace, Peace, Mercy and Love to all "who are Totally
Terrified" [ as I was Many Years ago! ] of God's Wrath:

God's Simple Will!

Only the elect are ever saved.
Right. But everyone has to choose in this age, yes? The Elect will always come to Jesus as He will draw them to Himself. Those who never come to Jesus are not His sheep. I actually wonder about that word ‘non-Elect’—Is there even such a thing? One was either chosen or not.

The ones who are not the elect are the ones who go to hell.

What is hell? Is it forever? I say not. At the GWTJ, those who never believed in Christ will be blotted out. No more memory of them. That’s why there will be no tears in the New Jerusalem (in the Eternity).
