Do ‘looks’ in the opposite sex matter to you?

I've heard of how one spouse spite their ex by revenge and make sure their ex is boiling with rage, and jealous of what the ex loses, however, when hearing this, I feel for the ex, and wish that spite or revenge is never sought in the first place.

do I romanticize a bad guy? if so, may that be the start of what empathy is, a misguided empathy that can be lead into a properly guided empathy.
 
Yes. I hope someday I'll meet a nice Christian girl that doesn't care too much about my looks, I've been told straight up that I'm not attractive several times and I don't have any attractive facial features. I'm mostly of German descent so I have a very Euro look, I'm not a model by any means :/ .

I was tought toilets are dirty so I would always wipe down the seat before sitting it mom was the only female in the house antt those were her rules. Then school came, boys rooms and girls rooms. I was 18 before I shared a toilet with a female that wasn't a germ o phobe. I thought everybody lowered the seat and cleaned it before sitting. Then came the Air Force, same as school!
 
As much as I find physical beauty tempting, it would never be a deciding factor for a long term relationship. As a younger man, foolish to the core, I was a harvester of attractive “low hanging fruit”. My wife was the first woman who I didn’t choose for superficial reasons. She was the best choice by far. Beauty fades, faster on some than others. I think that if someone is looking for a beautiful spouse then they might be overlooking many better qualified candidates. Sure there may be a type that excites you quicker than others but only is of benefit a few hours a week. The rest of the time, that beauty queen maybe a burdensome, narcissistic disaster (not always). When a person defines themselves by their looks, their very identity is shaken when gravity takes control of those curves, and cataracts replace the light in their eyes. I fell in love with my wife’s laugh which is every bit attractive now as when we met.

whoever state that temporary physical beauty is the deciding factor of relationship and ignore interaction, is most likely sarcastic
 
I have a therapy like question, what are some ways (growing at one's own pace is accounted for) to cross the bridge of self-improvement
 
Their's been a paradigm shift in morals over the past 100 years. I was adopted and my step parents were old enough to be my grand parents. Mom would be 99 and Dad 104 this year. Marriage was for life and you could go yo hell for getting a divorce and never get re married. To people my age however this has flipped and we are seeing the results.

I saw this ad..the pic was 2 older people..married for many years saying.."in OUR time we FIXED things that were "broken" (meaning marriage) not just throw it away"...very true!

whether to empathy those boys who suffer being beat up or not, hmm ...

what should be the right perspective in regard to this?
