Do protestants have a reasonable non-Roman-Catholic explanation for John 20:22-23?

Let follow your line of thought that Roman Catholics and Protestants were different.

It was some 350 years the Catholic Church began the first execution of people with heretic teaching. What an evil church!!

How about the Protestants. They split from Catholic Church in 1517. John Calvin at Geneva executed Michael Seevetus for heresy in 1553, and executed Jacques Gruet for criticizing Calvin in 1546.
Martin Luther had no objection to the killing in the Peasant Revolt 1524-25. All these happened in less than 50 years after the splitting from the Catholic Church.

Which church was more intolerant to erroneous doctrines?

The Roman Catholic Church was the first Christian organization that had other Christians killed. That was in the 4th century. Protestants did not exist at that time.
John 17: 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
This is what I live for, to explain God and our reality to those whom God chooses to understand and accept. I give all honor and glory to God the Father who is the only one true God and who commands all, including Jesus whom He sent. Please reply to this post and I will respond with what I've learned from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Bible, history, using common sense logic and rational thinking. I am offering a true understanding of what is really going on and I want zero credit for this explanation. I don't seek honor or fame or recognition. My job on this earth is to spread what is given to me so that God can choose who will get to know Him and receive eternal life. The road to damnation is wide, and the road to salvation is narrow and few are those that find it. A precious gift has been given me and I live to do His will which is helping people to get to know Him.
Dear Beechan, the Roman Catholic Church does not know the one true God the Father. They are the ones that came up with the three person God in the 4th century. They have a history of killing other Christians and forced the Trinity on people with the Edict of Thessalonica by the Emperor Theodocius in 380 AD. Read Foxe's Book of Martyrs published in 1563 which depicted many of the atrocities committed by the Roman Catholic Church on Christians. The Roman Catholic Church does not know God and neither do you. Unless you open up a litte bit, you will follow them to the wide road. I say this not to condemn you, but out of love for you. I am not here to argue with you. My job as a Christian is to explain. It is up to God if He wants to open up your mind and heart to truth. Let me know if you really want to know what is really going on. My take is not the traditional understanding of what it is all about.

Catholic Church has never called Mary the co-redemptrix as an official doctrine.

Catholic Mistake #18
Mary is the Mediatrix and Co-Redemptrix
This is another one that catholics will deny and say that Mary's role as co-redeemer and mediatrix is not a formally defined dogma of the RCC. Really? It's right here in the catechism. 969 This motherhood of Mary in the order of grace continues uninterruptedly from the consent which she loyally gave at the Annunciation and which she sustained without wavering beneath the cross, until the eternal fulfillment of all the elect. Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation...Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix. What's the definition of a mediatrix? A woman who is a mediator. And here is some more evidence that the catholics are of the opinion that Mary is the mediatrix of all graces is a title Roman catholics give to the blessed virgin Mary as the mother of God. It includes the understanding that she mediates the divine grace. ThIs was given to us by pope Leo XIII in 1894. Catholic dictionary: mediatrix is a title of the blessed virgin as a mediator of grace. Fr. Dwight Longenecker in his article in the magazine Catholic Answers titled Mary, Mother of Salvation How to explain the Co-Redemptrix to Evangelicals 12/01/ 2007. How about don't explain it to us because it's a false teaching. The catholic magazine Catholic Planet describes Mary as co-redemptrix , mediatrix, and advocatrix. Catholicism.org May 31. 2000 titled Our Lady, Mediatrix of all graces says at he bottom of the page that God will not listen to any prayer that is not offered to him through the intercession of Mary. This leads us back to 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Rom 8 : 34 Who is he that condemneth? Shall Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Jesus " maketh intercession for us" by praying to the Father on our behalf. Are catholics trying to disobey the Bible on purpose? They are trying to put Mary on a pedestal to make her equal to Jesus. Mary being the mediatrix is a man-made tradition of the RCC that is found nowhere in the Bible.

Oh, but they do. Just watch the videos of crowds hailing him whenever he makes an appearance. Whether or not Catholics are taught to do so is beside the point; they do, and the popes don't actively and immediately discourage it.

Acts 10: 25-26 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worhipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

Catholic Mistake #20
The RCC and the Perpetual Virginity of Mary
The concept of Mary being a forever virgin once again puts her up on a pedestal and glorifies her for something she is not. This teaching is also known as ever virgin. It teaches that Mary was a virgin before, during, and after the birth of Jesus Christ. This doctrine proclaims that Mary had no marital relations after Jesus' birth nor gave birth to any children other than Jesus. Here is the teaching from the catechism. 499 The deepening of faith in the virginal motherhood led the Church to confess Mary's real and perpetual virginity even in the act of giving birth to the Son of God made man. In fact, Christ's birth did not diminish his mother's virginal integrity but sanctified it. And so the liturgy of the Church celebrates Mary as Aeiparthenos, the Ever-Virgin. In contrast here is what the Bible says: Matt 1: 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in this way: When, as his mother, Mary, was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Matt 1: 24-25 Then Joseph, being raised from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife. And knew her not (no sexual relation) till she had brought forth her first-born son; and he called his name Jesus. First-born son implies that there were other sons afterwards. If Jesus was Mary's only son, shouldn't it have said only son and not first-born son? Matt 13: 55-56 (KJV) Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?Catholics will deny this and say that the word brethren actually means cousins. To clarify this, since the New Testament was originally written in Greek, the word for brethren or brothers in Greek is adelphoi which is the word used in Matt 13: 55-56. In Colossians 4: 10 (NKV) Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, with Mark the cousin of Barnabas ( about whom you received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him), we see the word cousin is used. What is the Greek word for cousin? Anepsios. The RCC has made a major mistake by thinking that these are Mary's cousins instead of her own children. Mary being the perpetual virgin and having no other children besides Jesus is a man-made tradition of the RCC that is found nowhere in the Bible.

I think that there is a conversation line on this site where two people can engage in one-on-one conversation. Just saying.
