Mat 9:1 Jesus climbed into a boat and went back across the lake to his own town.
Mat 9:2 Some people brought to him a paralyzed man on a mat. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “Be encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven.”
Mat 9:3 But some of the teachers of religious law said to themselves, “That’s blasphemy! Does he think he’s God?”

I know we have said this before, however we feel it is worth saying many more times. Religious law is not the same as Biblical law. As we can see in the text, for some reason religious leaders didn't think man can forgive sin, however as we know it is one of the things we are to do. Now don't get me wrong, when we forgive a sin, we can only forgive what was done to us, and it doesn't mean we have the power to grant anyone life. It does however show that we walking in the teachings of the Word. Also remember we are told to forgive, sin as HaShem forgives us.
Mat 9:4 Jesus knew[ what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts?

What evil do you see in their thoughts? I know there will be no reply to that, however is gets one to thinking on that it is worth asking.
Mat 9:5 Is it easier to say ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up and walk’?
Mat 9:6 So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”
Mat 9:7 And the man jumped up and went home!
Mat 9:8 Fear swept through the crowd as they saw this happen. And they praised God for sending a man with such great authority.
Why do you think they were scared? Some may say that in that time superstition played a big roll in their lives, and you may be right. However as we read on we find they gave praise to HaShem for this. Clearly they understood where the power came from.

Mat 9:9 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.
Mat 9:10 Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners.
Mat 9:11 But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum?
Mat 9:12 When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.”
Mat 9:13 Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

Although there are as many ideas about this passage, most of them come down to the same thing. As I am sure you may see something familiar in our take on it, I hope you also find something new.
You see, when Yeshua speaks of healthy people, He is speaking of people that truly understand scripture, or are willing to admit they don't know everything, so they study. This would be the sinners in the world. Odd take on it as we have been told. After a healthy person lives a life free of sin right? The sick that do need help are the people that think they know everything, yet hold on true understanding of scripture. Like when a person wishes to discredit one passage by using another to nullify it.
As to the passage Yeshua speaks of, it comes from Hos. 6:6. When one looks at it, we find that HaShem wants us to show mercy, rather than hateful. We also find that He wants to seek out and understand Him, more than burnt offerings. Again this points to His bio if you will. Until we understand that the torah is fully spiritual, we have little hope of understanding Who HaShem truly is.
Mark 2:13-17 Luke 5:27-32
Mat 9:14 One day the disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus and asked him, “Why don’t your disciples fast like we do and the Pharisees do?”
Mat 9:15 Jesus replied, “Do wedding guests mourn while celebrating with the groom? Of course not. But someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Remember when Yeshua spoke of doing things in secret? Here is just one more example of that.

Mat 9:16 “Besides, who would patch old clothing with new cloth? For the new patch would shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before.
Although many see this as Yeshua saying the Law has been removed, or that the O.T. way of worship has, think hard about that. You see just from the book of John we have seen that Yeshua left us with His actions, and teachings as a way to show us how to live, worship, and walk after Him.
There is however 2 other teachings on this, that might help us to better understand what is being said. You will note that we don't say follow this one, that one or the other one. After all, we are to work out our own salvation. No I am not saying we can say, I am saved because I said so. After all if that were the case, then we would not need to understand Yeshua's life, teachings, or faith.
Anyway.
1 here we find that some teach this to mean that wee simply can't live by the same teachings of the Word. In other words, every thing in the O.T. has been removed. Including, though not limited too the teaching that HaShem has placed our sin as fare from us as the east is from the west. Ps.103:12. So when we try to teach only a part of the Word, and wish to remove others, we do ourselves, our life, and our faith a disservice.
2 The old form of worship just doesn't fit with the new. Though we can look and see that Yeshua does correct the teachers of religious law at every turn. What we don't see is Him removing any part of the Tanakh. What we do see is Him placing their teachings in context with the Tanakh. Placing not the Word into question, rather their understanding of it. After all, if one tells you they worship HaShem, and place their faith in Yeshua, yet their life, doesn't reflect the teachings of Yeshua, what happens? They, by their understanding simply make things worse. Just as a new path that has not been shrunk first, makes the hole biger when it rips free, and the garment is also suffers worse than if it had just been left alone. So does ones faith. You see faith is a fragile thing.
Mat 9:17 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.”
Here the idea is turned around. Look at the old wine skin as traditional Judaism. With it's sacrifices, and laws as understood in the time of Yeshua. Yeshua makes clear that some of their understanding is wrong, yet at the same time He upholds that part that is good.
Once we opened this door, we stopped and looked closely at what it holds. We came to the understanding that both Judaism and what passes for chiristianity today, must follow the same path. After all we know that HaShem gave His laws, and told us to follow them. Yeshua told us the law would not pass away until all has been fulfilled. As we know, not every word has been fulfilled as yet.
This leads us to the following, be it right or wrong, we will only know once we stand in judgement. So don't take this as YOU MUST DO AS I SAY. Your ideas on faith are just that, yours. Our are just that ours.
In our study on this we found something that will make some think we have lost our minds. Did you know that if you take a new peace of cloth, wash it so it shrinks, it won't pull away? That is do to it being fitted not as new, rather as a little bit old, due to it having been shrunk, and all new, as it has never been used before.
The same was found to be true for an old wine skin. As we found, alcohol shrinks leather? So when you put New wine, (Unfermented) in an old skin, it shrinks even more. That does make the skin burst. Yet if you only fill the skin to about 2/3 of its capacity, it doesn't.

I find it sad that I listed this 3 days ago and it has not been posted. Well things do get over looked, so let try once more.
In this study I do ask that we keep to the life of Yeshua, how He lived His life, what religion He followed, and what His study/teaching tools were. After all if we fail to understand this, how can we say follow His example?
The Word is clear on one thing,

Hos 4:6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

As I have seen in every post I opened, there are some that simply wish to make sure they are heard, and any one that stands in opposition of their thinking must be talked over, belittled, and or forced out. Anything to stop their understanding from getting out. However, they have little to say about how Yeshua lived His life, or what His guiding principles were.
If this thread is approved, we will examine the Life of Yeshua, and seek to find how He walked in His life. From His teachings, and His teaching alone we can learn more than one may think. I know that what I ask now will be over looked, ignored, or otherwise pushed aside. Still I must ask. If you wish to try and derail this study, please don't post. Keep in mind we are looking the life of Yeshua, NOT PAUL. Thank you for your understanding in this simple request.
We know from Paul (probably) in HB that Jesus lived a sinless life, but we have more details about how Paul lived HIS life, which he did not claim was sinless, although he "conformed to the strictest sect of our religion, living as a Pharisee" per ACTS 26:4-5.

Regarding details, we can infer/assume that Jesus and Paul's lives practiced what they preached, since they were NOT hypocrites!

Though that is true, we are still not looking at Paul.

Let's face it. Jesus IS the Living Word, John 1:1 and was our example how we should like our lives.

I agree, and it is only when we understand His life, teachings and faith, can we ever hope to know how to live our lives. That is why we opened this study. Yet in the end, we know we can't live a sin free life, or what every thing truly means.

Please see Mark 5:21-43 and Luke 8:40-56
Mat 9:18 As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt before him. “My daughter has just died,” he said, “but you can bring her back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her.”
Mat 9:19 So Jesus and his disciples got up and went with him.
Mat 9:20 Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe,
Mat 9:21 for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
Mat 9:22 Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
Many times we speak of faith. Some hold to faith alone as their doctrine, yet as seen here there had to action for this lady to be healed. Had she just sat there thinking, and not acted, her healing would not have came about. Just as we today must act to be healed.
Think of this way. You know you need a doctor so you sit at home thinking about it. No doctor shows up at your house, as you never called, went, or asked anyone to help. How does that get you healed? Now if you get up and go see the doctor, he will help you. We have faith in them doing the right thing, yet must act to get it right?
Mat 9:23 When Jesus arrived at the official’s home, he saw the noisy crowd and heard the funeral music.
Mat 9:24 “Get out!” he told them. “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him.
Mat 9:25 After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up!
Mat 9:26 The report of this miracle swept through the entire countryside.
In this one we find that some sim[ply have no faith in what Yeshua can do. They are told to get out. why? As we know people spread their faith, just as a lack of faith can be spread.
