Let's go to the bible then.

Genesis 1:27-31;2:1-3

[SUP]28 [/SUP]And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

"AND THE EVENING AND THE MORNING WERE THE SIXTH DAY." This is an impotant statement denoting that this day has ended.


2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

Not half, not some but ALL. Does that not include everything?

[SUP]3 [/SUP]And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

2 things to notice. 1. He had rested IN IT and 2. THERE IS NO "AND THE EVENING AND THE MORNING WERE THE SEVENTH DAY".

This day is everlasting and a memorial forever. Just as when someone dies we denote it usually with a "RIP". He has rested from his labors.
 
I am in agreement with homewardbound on this issue. Romans is a doctrinal epistle to the body of Christ. . .

Romans 14:5,6 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. . . . 10)But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ . . . then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. . .I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. . . .

22) Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

That's the point. They did. They taught it according to traditions of men. Again our 7 days is a CREATED pattern fit for excercising the children of God.

Romans 1:20-25

Our "days" are determined by the movements of the planets, the sun and the moon. ALL created things.
 
I must ask again, since so many are saying Jesus Christ is Shabbat, where is this taught, and I would like the words pasted from the Word, not from someone's exclusive understanding of words under words. This is not how the Master teaches the Good News. I am from Missouri, so please, show me, do not simply parrot what others say.

Jesus is our rest in learning the Good News as He taught, but this by no means teaches the Seventh Day has been replaced by Him. He is the Word, He gave the commandments, He teaches us to obey them because they will never change while the earth is. He observed the Seventh Day in obedience to the Father. Does anyone dare say to the Father that His commandments are changed?

By your opinion you are trying to make void the Law of God. The sabbath is one of the commandments. If we know the 7th day is the sabbath of the Lord and do not keep it then the Bible says it is sin.

1 John 3:4 KJV
(4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

The texts I quoted showed that the early church kept the sabbath of the Lord. Jesus did not come to destroy the Law and if the early church changed the day of worship which if it was commanded (which it was not) then Jesus would have contradicted Himself.
 
The Sabbath as undersstood by the Church historically.

Natural Law (God`s Moral law) was writen into man`s mind at creation and was given a conscience. In the fall it is servery damaged, though remains. To function properly the conscience needs to be informed by special revelation (scripture). God revealed this to his people in the Ten Commandments as a summary (though not completely) of principles. In the giving of the law (Exodus 20 and Deut.5), two reasons are given: God`s creation (Example) and God`s deliverance of Israel (liberation). The entire notion of the Sabbath is rooted in liberty from commerce, daily obligations, and the hardness of life. Because God is the ultimate source of joy, to have a day devoted to remembering what he has done and worshiping him, it is not supposed to be a burden. It was never interpreted to be one until the nature of economics changed in the industrial revolution.

Now, the question is how we are to look at the 10 commandments in light of the New Testament. Historically there are 4 or 5 positions.

1. The catholic position (notice the lower case position : Christians are called to honour the Lord`s Day. The Sabbath is a general concept that points our rest in Christ. We are to keep 1 day set aside for God, but the exact day isn't important but out of respect for how the early Church clearly started out (book of acts, and john in the book of revelation) we will continue to worship together on Sunday. How to best keep the day is more or less relative to each christian`s conscience to decide.
2. The Calvinists positions: Here it is the belief that Sunday (also called the Lord`s Day) took the place of the old Sabbath and it functions as the new Sabbath for the New covenant people. Because we find our rest in Christ, the day is to be of rest from worldly activities and focus on Christ.
3. The neonominian position: The old law is replaced by a new law. They tend to see no Sabbath or Lord`s day, but a clear command for Christians to worship together regularly.
4. the antinominian position: There is no law for the Christian, but true Christians have the Holy Spirit with them and their nature as been so changed in Christ that the law is written on their hearts and they will naturally not sin. If they sin, they must repent and if it`s a major sin you ought your salvation.
5. The messianic Jewish understanding: This position is radically new and they argue that Christians ought to observe Saturday as the Sabbath. This is clearly not the practice throughout the the book of acts for gentile Christians (though clearly Jewish Christians did continue to worship and meet both in traditional synagogue and on Sunday. I personally understand this as the Sabbath was observed not because it was God`s law (on Saturday) rather they wanted to use the occasion to preach to the Jews.

You are absolutely suppose to keep the Sabbath - and God already specified what day the Sabbath is

The 7th day of the week.

Sunday is the 1st day of the week.

Some say this doesn't matter, but if it didn't matter to God he wouldn't of specified a day for worship at all.

The 7th day is actually symbolic for entering the eternal rest after the prophetical 6000 years of the Bible are up. Bible also says it's to be kept for generations to come, that is, not replacing it with Sunday, and it's the only commandment in the ten commandments that says " Remember " because God knew everyone would forget his Sabbath. For Sunday, which was put in place by Emperor Constantine - and since when did a mere Emperor have the authority to dictate God's holy day?

Bountiful blessings are also given on the Sabbath day, as well as a spiritual cleansing.

God is very strict about his Sabbath, and actually punishes those who have been desecrating it:

Nehemiah 13:17

" What is this wicked thing your doing - desecrating the Sabbath day..."

Even God said it was wicked.

There's a fine line between legalistic and logical - God never abolished the Sabbath day, so is it really legalistic to say we should keep the 7th day holy? Or is it just blatant logic?

Even Jesus Christ kept the Sabbath day, and said he was Lord of the Sabbath, meaning he established the Sabbath day for mankind. " The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath."

It was created for us, mankind, because it is truly an extremely holy day.

I keep the Sabbath and I've been monumentally more blessed after forsaking pagan Sunday worship.

(9) Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

I see nothing wrong in worshiping on the first day of the week (Sunday), or any other day of the week. In fact, if it weren't for Sun. worship, many would likely be lost. I know I would. But, to disobey any of Gods COMMANDS is wrong, and to teach others to disobey any of His commands is worse.

Romans 7:7-12
7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. [SUP]8[/SUP] But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. [SUP]9[/SUP] For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. [SUP]10[/SUP] And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. [SUP]11[/SUP] For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. [SUP]12[/SUP] Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Here Paul teaches us that the commandments are holy, just and good. He also defines what sin really is; disobeying the commandments.
Again, there is nothing wrong with worshiping on Sunday, or any or every day of the week. But the definition of sin is the disobedience of Gods commands.

1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Keeping God the Fathers ten commandments will not save us, but in order to keep the first, and most important command from Christ; (love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind;) we must keep His commandments. "For this is the love of God"

So I ask again, sense it does not matter what day we choose, why not choose to observe the Sabbath, in accordance with Gods command?
We can still worship on Sunday. There's nothing wrong with Sun. worship, is there?

Do we go to the Talmudeans of today, or do we remain faithful to the Word of God? Why do you suppose these references are in the Book Revalation? Do you keep the commandments of God, or do you rewrite them and teach contrary to them?

Rev 12:17
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Notice how strongly linked obeying the commandments are with faith in our Lord, Yeshua. Do not teach against obeying the commandments of God, it is anti-Christ.


Rev 14:12
 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

the bible does say that there are ten commandments...what i was pointing out is that the individual commandments are not assigned actual numbers in the bible...meaning it is open question as to which are independent commandments and which ones are just reiterations or clarifications of others...

going to a synagogue and spending the day trying to reason with jews doesn't sound very restful to me...
