Let's read how long God said His Sabbath would be "physically" observed......

Lev.23
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

So let's now read some of the feast and holy convocations of the Lord;

[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
[4] These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

So we have God's 7th day Sabbath as one of His feast/holy convocations.

[5] In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD's passover.
[6] And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

And we have the feast of the Passover and the First Day of Unleavened Bread.

Now let's read how long God tells us to "physically" keep these feasts and holy convocations;

Exod.31
[13] Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
[14] Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
[15] Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
[16] Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
[17] It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Now just when does, "perpetual" and "for ever" come to an end?

Now....was God's laws ONLY for the nation of Israel? Let's read....

Exod.12
[49] One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

Num.15
[29] Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

Isa.56
[2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
[3] Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
[4] For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
[5] Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
[6] Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

God said His Sabbath was to be a perpetual covenant. And we are to "physically" observe it forever!

For those that have decided to keep the 1st day of the week as a sabbath and not God's 7th day Sabbath day, do you also keep it in the way that God has instructed it to be kept?

I know the scriptures used to keep another day other than God's 7th day Sabbath is the following;

Col.2
[16] Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

But At no point does the above scripture address the WAY in which God's Sabbath is to be observed.

So....for those that keep a day other that God's 7th day Sabbath....do you at least keep it in the way which He commanded?

Hi,
i wonder. Do we have as a younger of Christ Jesus do keep the Sabbath? Look what Jesus says. The question for me is. Is the sabbath day for sure friday night till saturday night or can we choose it and do we have to hold all the informations and commands for that day. Till today i have not find the 100% answer because i do not understand it out from the bible. Have a great day brothers in christ and sisters in christ. I hope that someone can help me out. Be blessed.

My only thinking, and it is from the Word, is to read the commandment, then go to all references of Jesus and the Sabbath. Pray and follow what you are given without imposing it on others, without doubt, and always with love and adoration of God.

this was actually discussed at my church its sumthing that has bothered me for a long time. Jesus himself said Sabbath was made for man....(New Living Translation (©2007) Mark 2:27 Then Jesus said to them, "The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath) which shows me its the principle that is important and not the day. if i have to work on a saturday to provide for myself and my family? will i b punished for all eternity? no.... i will sacrifice unto God a day that i can to worship him and to abide with him and to partake of his rest.

first find out what was Jesus' commandment.... (i believe but i might b wrong) i believe he was referring to the commandment of love which is the greatest commandment of all. that commandment the scribes had forgotten becuz of the hardness of their hearts.... and we today as Christians also forget it.

When Jesus declared the Sabbath was made for man, it was in response to accusations of working on the Sabbath. When He declared man is lord over the Sabbath, it was specifically allowing for good works to be done on the Sabbath. He was not changing the order of creation; that would be chaos. He is the God of order not chaos.

The Lord leads, follow Him.

The church IS the 'bride of Christ, who is the 'bridegroom.'

But, YOU follow Him. "...you follow Me." John 21:22

I have done some studying lately on this subject and have decided to follow the Sabbath. I find it funny that we follow all of the 10 commandments except for the 4th. Why is it the 4th commandment is such a source of contention for Christians? Could it be because that is the only commandment that something is asked of us? We don't make graven images, we don't commit adultery, we don't bear false witness, but yet we refuse to keep God's day holy. The Sabbath was never mentioned to become legalistic or a burden, but instead it's supposed to be a day that we delight in our Lord and saviour! Imagine if you will a day that you don't bother with the cares of this world but instead focus on the Creator, women, no shopping, laundry, dishes and such, just one day that you get into prayer, read your word, watch Christian movies, and don't think about your responsibilities, but instead think about your Lord, instead of thinking how to please your husband think instead of how to please your Lord. The more I think about it the more inclined I am to enjoy my first Sabbath, if praising and giving to God is legalistic or a burden, well I guess I'm legalistic then. I just can't see how giving one entire day to my God could possibly have any repurcursions!!

I am sorry for all those who claim they keep the Sabbath, because the majority doesn't. How can anyone say they keep the Sabbath when they don't follow the Jewish calendar? The only REAL way to keep the Sabbath is to keep it on the Jewish calendar. Since the Roman calendar does not match the Jewish calendar at all, no one in the US is keeping the Jewish Sabbath. They only think they are. If you research keeping other Jewish holy days, all of them are kept by the Jewish calendar. Any other way is incorrect.

It is according to the Hebrew calendar that we know Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown is equivalent to the seventh day on any Hebrew or Jewish calendar. There is not dispute or question about it. All people I know of who observe the seventh day as Sabbath are very aware of this.

I suggest you do your own personal research on the two calendars. You don't have to believe me; the facts will speak for themselves.

It would not be fair for my looking into it in that I know I am predisposed to think in terms of revisionist reasoning on the subject to the effect that we do not know one day from another. Also, I believe the calendar to be intact. Why do we suppose the Roman calendar has the days numbered the same as the Hebrew calendar with Sunday as the first day of the week, albeit it does not begin at sunset?

The Jewish months overlap the Roman months. The old Jewish calendar consisted of 354 days. The newer calendar has 12 months with 30 days each. There is still no way those following the Roman calendar can keep the Jewish Sabbath.

Yes, the Hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar, and this is why they must add what is translated as a "pregnant month" at specified times to compensate for the difference between the lunar calendar and a solar year. Though many are not aware of this, it makes not difference since the Jews who maintain the calendar are aware of it, and it is maintained according to this practice.[ QUOTE=Stephen63;950694]The Jewish months overlap the Roman months. The Jewish calendar doesn't have a leap year every four years.

Paul said the observance of the sabbath was a shadow and that Jesus is the real. Therefore your faith in Gospel is observing that eternal sabbath everyday

The weekly sabbath was not a shadow because it was given before sin entered into the world it did not point to anything. The weekly sabbath is a memorial of creation. The ceremonial sabbaths were given much later after creation and were shadows because they pointed forward to the work of Christ in the plan of redemption.

The Bible never calls the sabbath the Jewish sabbath But, always the sabbath of the Lord. To call it the Jewish sabbath is an incorrect statement that is nowhere in the Bible.

When God created the world at the end of each of the first 6 days it says and the evening and the morning. On the 7th day it starts with On the 7th day, this shows the day is more important and separate from the first six.
