Now Harry has a little story to tell you....
Once upon a time Miri decided to go to the garden centre to see if she could find a plant for the bathroom window. She looked high and low but could not find the right one. Eventually she came across the bargain corner and their she spied me.

In my prime I cost £6.00 but I had fallen on hard times and my value was now a mere £1.00. I was the only one of my kind all dried up, neglected, and crammed into the middle of the bargain section towards the back. I was on my last legs (leaves), my life draining away with shrivelled up brown leaves gasping my last breathe.

Then along came Miri, who reached down and pulled me out from the rest. She took a good long look at me and something must have caught her eye. For the next thing I knew, I was being beeped past the scanner and carefully placed in a bag and then carried out into the big wide world. I so scared I closed my eyes and when I opened them again, I found myself on a nice bright window.

Miri watered and fed me, she removed the brown leaves (which did not hurt too much).
After that she dropped by to see me every morning and evening and contiuned to give me so much food and water, my saucer overflowed.

Day by day I could feel myself getting stronger and now here I am, 3 months later with leaves bursting out all over.

Ahh this is the life.

I like golden pathos plants.


There are toxins in the home, like paint, etc... that can emit toxic vapors into the house. While certain house plants can purify the home and make it a healthier environment. This book is a wonder for our house and office.

I love plants. Sadly, they don't like me. My house is where healthy, beautiful plants come to die :(. Maybe I will try again using some of the plants suggested in the thread. Thanks
 
many years ago, I found a small 'rubber-plant' and replanted it
into a larger pot, put it in my bedroom and just loved and
baby talked it into adulthood.
I would regularly wipe the leaves down with milk but didn't
water to often as it didn't seem to like over-watering.

my rubber plant brought me a lot of good feelings just
looking at it and enjoying its growth and seemingly
reaching-out for care and attention.

when terrible trouble surfaced in my home, my lovely
plant started to shed its leaves and eventually died.

moral of story, = what is going on around us affects the
least to the greatest.

so many lessons to learn in this life of loves and hates!

:( Poor little guy. Did you get a new rubber plant? When my house plants would die I'd lay them to rest under a tree outside so they could nourish other life.

Plants are affected by the environment around them. There are botanists that have conducted experiments to see how emotion and language affect plants. I knew a woman who was friends with a researcher in that field. Fascinating stuff.
Physics says all things are made of energy that moves constantly and to a rhythm. And that vibrations affect that rhythm. So it stands to reason then that thoughts and words, all intonations, vibrations, can have an affect on plants. Just as they do on people.

I did have a houseplant..once upon a time..but sadly it committed plant-icide. :)

thanks for the reply.

no, I didn't get another 'rubber-tree', but I did recycle it.

I think it's very telling when we have emotions for plants, animals, etc.
it shows us how we can care and respect God's creations for what they are.

and yes, I do buy-into the exchanging of energy beliefs, I have seen
many positive and negative results in this arena.

the micro-scopic worlds are fascinating at all levels in creation.

Solomon studied every plant and creature so that he could be aware
of how intricate and magnificent God's mind truly is.
some of his curiosity has filtered-down to many of us.

jimmers your banana plant dwarfs Harry!

He is getting very big now and completely fills the bathroom windowsill.
He is sulking a bit at the moment he was getting so big I had to trim off some of his leaves, it was for his own good you understand. They were getting all bent and giving him back ache.

I told him to stop sulking and that we all need pruning at times for our own good, when he is in a better mood I will re pot him.

ps don't let him know I have been talking about him!

Probably because I'm from Arizona, I love little sucuulant plants. They look like minature agave plants, aloe and stuff. They're so cute and very hearty

Hi im back, hope Miri has been behaving herself.

She was going to give me a new pot but I explained in my poshest voice that I
liked my old one very much, it's nice a cosy and just right. So she decided to
leave me in my old pot for a bit longer.

I'm a big boy now, in fact Miri had to give me a hair cut a short while ago. She said
I would start looking like a girl if she didn't!

It didn't hurt, well not much anyway and Miri said we all need pruning back a bit
every now and again. It's biblical you know, what ever that means.

Ive just woken up so I should go now and have some breakfast then I will
sit on my sunny window sill and admire the view. Miri thought it might get a
bit hot for me, but I like it here, it's nice and warm.

Hope you are all looking after the plants in your house.

I have tried and tried to have one, but every time I plant a house, it never grows. Just kinda sits there and withers away.
