Both Testaments are essential reading. Its impossible to fully understand Gods plan for us without reading the OT especially when it comes to books like Revelation which relies heavily on OT books and passages. Many of the fanciful contributions on this site are from people who either ignore the OT or only read certain books contained in it.
Ok I acknowledge this answer says nothing. I ponder even more greatly, I came back on here looking for your response even, what is not in the Scriptures? If you say testimony, do we not only have that because of the Scriptures?

When I first read the thread title I wondered if it meant "both Greek and Hebrew".
Of course I read both the old and new testaments. Frankly I'm amazed that some Christians don't. That's like jelly without the peanut butter, syrup without the pancakes, or gravy without the smashed potatoes. All tasty, but lacking substance.

Oh, both. Absolutely. There isn't another way to really understand them. Favorites now...Isaiah/Psalms/Genesis, (hey, all the genres! lol) John/James/Romans. But really, my favorite Books depend on what I'm going through and needing to hear at the time, so they change.
