Does God accept organ donor and blood transfusion?

yes it does, you digestive track and circulatory system are separate, blood eaten and blood infused are completely different.

if blood is infected with something that infection is going to get passed to you either way. same as the life thats contained in the blood.

did God command this because of medical reasons, or spiritual ones ?
is it to prevent physical disease/malady or to prevent spiritual 'infection' ?

what were they doing with blood before the flood ?
what were worshipers of Ba'al, Ishtar, Molech etc doing with blood in Canaan ?
what were pagan Greeks and Romans and Babylonians doing with blood in the first century ?
what did they think they were doing, why were they doing it, and what were they trying to accomplish by it ?

i think those questions are important to understand the what/why of the commandment. just like Lev. 19:28 says do not cut yourselves for the dead or make tattoos on yourself, it may be important to understand exactly what people who did these things were meaning to do, otherwise we might start thinking any kind of surgical incision is sinful, because, 'do not cut yourselves' -- which, yeah, that'd be leaving off the "for the dead" part of the verse. which is exactly my point

Jesus gave His blood in order that others might live. Why would God object if believers do likewise on a smaller scale.

The Jews under religious law were permitted to eat the flesh of the animal, but commanded not to eat the blood because “life is in the blood.” The animal’s blood represented the ransom for sins, as animal sacrifice was required for forgiveness at that time. That's why to this day Jews kosherize (remove the blood of) meat before cooking and eating it.

We’re no longer under the law because God gave His Beloved Son on the Cross to redeem us from our sins by His Blood. There is no more animal sacrifice.

As for organ donor and blood transfusions, it brings this scripture to mind:

many of these dark belief systems ate blood and ate people for the sole reason of getting that persons life inside them. its very well documented.
another thing thats well documented is today many people that get organ transplants and transfusions experience memories, habits, and personality traits of the donor. how does that happen? IMO your taking part of someone soul and mixing it with yours, this is what the Most High is protecting us from.

Would the people who don't believe in blood transfusions because of this passage then say that those who have been saved by them (such as some of people in this thread) should have just been allowed to die rather than be given a blood transfusion, because they believe that this would have been God's will--to just stand by and watch them die, when something could have obviously saved them?

I truly mean that as an honest question. For myself, I couldn't just stand by and let someone pass when all it would take to save them is something I apparently have a little extra of anyway.

I'm signed up for my next blood drive donation in about two weeks. The last two times I came close to passing out, but I find that a small price to pay in order to save another persons's life.

The answer is yes. JWs would rather stand by and watch someone die than to betray/violate their religious belief in the sharing of blood.

Jay, you cannot EAT blood. If it's consumed, it's usually drunk, as satanists do when they conduct rituals. And I'm a recipient of a blood transfusion, I don't know if it's from a man, woman or child. All I know is, I haven't taken on any memories, habits or such, of that person.. LOL

The ONLY way THAT would happen is if someone got a brain transplant, or an eye transplant... if even then..

The night before giving blood, take an iron pill. That gives you more iron, so less likely to faint, and less likely to be turned down because of anemia.

While giving blood, do the mindful-breathing thing. Breathe deep, without getting into too-deep or hyperventilating thingies. (Sometimes when we're lying back or lying down we don't breath as deeply, simply because we don't need to at that moment. Kind of a body-conservation thing that hits automatically, but if you consciously breathe deeper, you get more oxygen into your blood, so less likely to pass out when you stand up.)

Then, go and sit at that table they point you to. And do drink -- a lot! (Go to the bathroom before leaving, if you fear needing a trip to a bathroom before getting home.) And eat! And sit and drink and eat like you would if you were with a friend out for a coffee. Take time to relax. Don't feel like you have to rush to leave because you're taking up useless space. You gave blood, for crying out loud! It doesn't get more useful than that most of our lives. So feel free to linger.

All that written from someone who almost fainted only when I was in a hurry to leave. lol

Not to derail the thread, but can people on meds donate blood? Like me, for instance. My blood is full of seizure meds 24/7/365..

Well, I'm on oxycodone and can donate. (They filter out the meds.) Might want to read the lists of who they won't take though. I know if you've visited certain countries in the last X amount of time, or if you've ever had Hep C you can't. Which, honestly, I think is strange, since hubby's Hep C was a type that was curable, so he has less Hepatitis in him than I have in me. (I always hit residual range of Hepatitis, because I got the vaccine for A & B.)

no blood actually passes from mother to child in the womb -- the child gets their blood from the father.
that's an important fact to know in order to understand how Romans 5:12 says sin entered through one man, though in Genesis 3 we see that Eve was the one who sinned first, and the significance of the virgin birth of Jesus -- His blood didn't come from Mary or Joseph

certain meds, no. i can't give you a list from memory but i'm sure you can search for one -- they run down a checklist when you donate, and when you donate plasma for example you may be urine-tested to make sure you're not abusing opiates or certain other things, i presume because that can be transferred through the blood.

I'm O-, so the universal donor. They love my plasma. And I'm on oxycodone, (a couple of statins, and and Ambien too), so I tell them that ahead of time, and it hasn't stop them from wanting my blood. I think they filter blood more now.

there is no mention of health in the passage, no mention of cooking meat. the only thing mentioned is blood and the fact that blood carries life, and that blood full of life is what the Lord did not want inside His people. makes no difference how it gets in there.

The context was dietary laws. You simply warped that into your own very-special agenda that has no place, whatsoever, in reality.

Ha! I am the proof this is not true.

My husband had Hep C 2B. (There were 13 strains of Hep C viruses, back in the days he was being treated for it, and 2B was the only kind that was curable.) Hep C is one of those viruses that takes 1-2 decades before the symptoms show up, but it wanders around the blood system for that entire time. We will never know how he got it, other than not in the two traditional ways. (The two most common ways to get it are IN drug use and homosexual sex. Can guarantee a NO for either of those two things, since we were married for over 20 years by then.)

We were married. We swapped more than just spit, if you get my meaning. And yet, I never got it!

So, so much for passing on infections through blood.
