Does God want us to celebrate Christmas?

I was just looking up to see if anywhere in the bible it says to celebrate Jesus and his birthday...

Well nothing is there. And of course no one knows when his birthday really was. So many things about Christmas is pagan. Personally I do not like how commercialized the holiday has become. I do think its a good excuse for family to gather and be close,which I am sure Jesus approves. There are good things about Christmas, but also there can be bad things as well. Not saying Santa is evil but is he being celebrated more than Christ? I think so.

How would Jesus want us to celebrate his birthday?
Would he want us to?

I am new to Christ , I want this year to be different and meaningful for my family as Christians.
 
God says to to Rejoice 3657 times in the Bible. That's more than 10 parties a day so you'd better not waste Christmas.
 
I agree totally..Christmas to me is giving to Christ,a gift in return in some way when you are alone with him..the little drummer boy gave what he had and to me that means the most.Besides look how far the wise men travelled to see the savior,they didn't go to Walmart and stand around the building to buy a TV..man has twisted Christmas into what man likes!

I heard about a family who makes Jesus a cake for his birthday and sings him a song, praising him and the Lord. I think its a nice idea. I want my son to know who we celebrate :) baby Jesus.

I see myself as a grinch...
What about celebrating HIS passover once a year?

What about taking HIS supper more often?

It's pitiful we're engaged with unconverted, pagans and many to be celebrating because we're given permission, some "holy" days or free days to conventionally share with loved ones, those who are near and afar.

It is interesting HIS birthday was not given. I imaging those who would look for the horoscope to see He was born on X sign. Ha! Ha! That are those signs paganism influenced me.

Some people have learnt to live HIM more often than yearly...
