Does the Bible say anything about doing adventure sports?

Yes sorry now I understand what you mean. As what I do is something I do when I have time for it and still have time for God, plus I worship god as snowboarding for example I don't think that that is any issue for me

  2. Tennis played likewise
  3. Table tennis likewise
  4. Basketball like wise
  5. Baseball likewise
  6. Softball likewise
  7. Bicycling likewise
  8. Swimming likewise
  9. Diving into a pool likewise
  10. Bowling likewise
  11. Exercise with either weights or other equipment likewise.
Everyone of these sports activities have strict rules. As long as the rules are followed there is no risk. You compared sky diving with American football, and the whole world knows that football is a very high risk sport (as is rugby). So is ice hockey. In ice hockey rivals sometimes seek to kill their rivals or injure them seriously. And the sport itself is not very safe.
 
Christ could have taken Satan's bait and thrown Himself down. He would not have been hurt or killed. But that was not the Father's will. And Christ told the devil the reason why.
Likewise, God does not want His people to take unnecessary risks to please the flesh through "thrills" and "rushes". That would be tempting God. Their time is for more important things. That's all I have to say and I am now out of this fruitless discussion.

are you serious? what rumor did you listen to to believe that ice hockey player would seek for killing an other player? come out from the closet an take a deep breath... maybe take a walk to a high cliff and see Gods nature... just don't go close, you might fall. sorry but when you tell things like that that you have no idea about then I have hard time to listen to other things you say. I have close relatives playing NHL hockey.

you compare snowboarding with jumping to a stone ground?
and again if it is the rush you mean then also I can not go in front of other people in church on a meeting talking? as I get same adrenaline rush from that as I get when jumping with my snowboard from a cliff?

and because not every one is on your side it is fruitless? seems you have a personal opinion and when you not have people on your side it is fruitless?
 
I'm serious about my question here. I read and listen to your opinions. I know that we think differently, some of us, that's what's so good. I learn a lot from what I read here and in the other threads here on the forum. For me, it's interesting to read the opinions of different people, I also have opinions. Sometimes I need to change my opinions, and that's why I ask others. I don't expect everyone to think like me, or I hope not everyone thinks like me because then the world would be pretty boring. But for me, a debate on a forum like this is a debate to learn from. If you don't know what a debate is, maybe you should think about it. Just because not everyone agrees with what you think, it is not automatically fruitless. Instead, dare to give constructive answers. For me, this is anything but fruitless.

I've been on a motorbike since I was six years old, played rugby, learnt how to ski and snowboard as part of school, as we are close to ski fields, when I get to heaven I'm definitely going to be racing a bike around with my Christian mates who raced professionally, also I'm going to hit the powder so will see yah there.

The way I look at it God gives us a taste of what heaven will be like, He made us to love adventure and to me this is just one aspect of what our heavenly home will look like, I know its second rate here on this temporal ball, and see it will just get better in the resurrection, on the bigger ball, so other things have first place in life.

I would go for it. I am sure that God has a sense of adventure too. I'm 69 and sometimes I think about skydiving. If it doesn't kill me it might make me stronger. Biblically, I see nothing at all that would prohibit the activities that you've outlined.

I have no bike yet, but when I can I will defensively get one. I have a snowmobile (snowbike) is 650cc so it is pretty quick :).
So in heaven I see you as we drive bike to the snowy mountains :love:

you can always skydive together with some one, there is for two person. Not long ago it was a lady doing it for the first time when she turn 75 :). you might not do it on your own

My foster mother, who is not a Christian, asked if it is ok for me to do that now that I am a Christian. I haven't thought about it before. I love those kinds of sports and wouldn't want to stop doing it. It helps me to become calm and be able to concentrate on other things when I need it

I can't even imagine my old body attached to a parachute at my age (almost 82). You have to measure the risk of such sports in contrast to the Bible's emphasis on taking care of God's temple (our bodies). And persist in prayer to God for his guidance. If he doesn't want you to do those risky sports, he will give you less interest in doing them.

Yes, I think it is true as you say. I always take safety first. I'm not taking dumb risk. And I also think if it is not right then my interest would be less as I keep to God. But so far I have only found ways to worship God in same time as I do my sports.
