But the Bible never supports the idea of tolerance of sin. Yes, Jesus was a friend of sinners, but He never left them stuck in sin. He said "go and sin no more". We can't let people think they can continually live a sinful life and still make heaven. If we love people, then we will tell them the truth. But it's not only what we tell them, it's how we tell them, with love.
I don't recall scripture saying it's our duty to go around examining and questioning our brethren in Christ, looking for any sins.

In fact, we all fall short of the mark, do we not?

Then don't please.
I didn't. Perhaps reread. I made a plausible suggestion as to why based on why so many other churches have done the same. But if you are going to characterize my behavior as the same type of behavior as what led to your church dividing, then my explanation makes alot of sense. You want churches to tolerate sin. Christians bring those who sin gently back into the fold as ministers of reconciliation or separate from them. When churches tolerate sin, Christians should first voice their objections, and, if unheeded, find a congregation that doesn't sanction sin.
You are free to share your experiences with your church, but if you are going to characterize my behavior as the same as what caused your church to split, I know why your church split. Some chose unity, and some chose to follow the teachings of the Bible. You seem to favor unity over truth. Jesus certainly didn't.

If you don't want us to talk about it then you shouldn't bring it up.
I don't mind talking about it or mentioning it.

I don't appreciate people lecturing and preaching at me about it when they have no idea what happened.

No, you don't know what happened at all. No one was calling for the toleration of sin, or for any changes in church practices, doctrines, or beliefs.

It was that some folks suddenly refused to tolerate people who saw things differently. People who were previously very good friends, grew up together, raised their kids together, ran VBS together, etc. started calling each other names and attacked each other personally until they could no longer be in each others' presence.

And it had little to nothing to do with our actual faith.

So they all believed in abortion and transgender surgery? Or not?
This also means you mischaracterized me, as the disagreements were not over the toleration of sin.

Could we be more clear about what you mean by the underlined in red? Instead of talking past each other?

Some folks not only didn't tolerate people with different experiences and views, they took that next step and leveled all sorts of terrible accusations against them, including saying they weren't real Christians (and worse).

In fact, we all fall short of the mark, do we not?
We're not talking about falling short of the mark. We are talking about people living in sin, living in the world yet claiming to be saved. Neither am I talking about a new Christian. Are we clear?

saw what things differently? You need to give a few examples because it is too vague, you could be referring to seeing sinful thing differently.

Tell ya what. Given the high level of personal attacks and name calling that goes on in this sub-forum, I'll not mention or say anything at all about my old church again. I don't see any good coming of it.

See my reply above. It was my error to bring it up in the first place.

I guess it depends on whether every post gets a nickel.

My apologies. I won't be mentioning my old church here again.

It's not personal. You tolerate and sanction sin. You didn't love those more than a million babies who were aborted last year. You lent your support to their demise.

The commandment to love isn't my commandment. You chose to act in a way that fostered the death of children and you are ok with that. If you didn't profess to be a Christian, I wouldn't have mentioned it. But you profess to be a Christian and you not only tolerate blatant sin, you act in a way to aid it. As a Christian, I don't understand such behavior. Perhaps you can explain it to me.

If you don't see the contradiction there, I don't know what else to say.
It's not an attack. It's an admission you yourself made. I'm just trying to understand why you are ok with it, or why you don't consider it sin.

You came on this site encouraging people to vote for Democrats. You know that Democrats support abortion. You have sanctioned the killing of children in the womb and even some outside the womb.

I'm trying to understand if you don't believe abortion is a sin or you know it is but take action to allow it to continue and encourage others to do the same.

I am kinda wondering what changes in the development of the baby after twenty four weeks for those who vote Republican?

They once had the moral ground on abortion, they do not anymore, amazing you are being accused of supporting abortion when their party is no different maybe even worse cause at least the Dems are consistent and transparent.
