I've heard people say that they don't know if they're saved, and some go so far as to "rededicate" their lives of Christ at some institutional church altar with some getting water baptized again, and some again and again...

Did some of you lose your salvation? How?

Do some of you believe you can't lose it? Why?

Do some of you believe you have to earn it? Why?

Do some of you believe you have to earn and/or retain it by your good works, or by abstaining from some sins? Why?

Do some of you believe your water baptism saved you, or that it sealed your salvation? Why?

I can answer All by the Holy Spirit Baptism No non of the Above .Those Holy Spirit baptism come normally not always After true water baptism that i can't see offered in the question list that baptism is being baptized into Christ
Peter says nice clear
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Anointed for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." This is both baptism of Jn And Holy Spirit Sealed absolute . With this Sabbath Rest in Him Now you never asks question of men debating for no good reasons. Some Kool scriptures if you caught the Rest & Sabbath wording posted few in other threads it all good to know study behold.
i do under if it's not clear .best I can say is seek him. he gladly give Holy Spirit He does the cutting in heart to place Tabernacle in the temple of the soul . That's the circumcision of the heart which completed new testament Covenant

Some people may need to doubt their doubts.

Its possible that they lost their zeal for the Lord. This world can be big distraction. Jesus is our salvation and he can't be lost.
Doing their first works over is a good thing according to the letters to the church in Revelation but how does one return to their first love? By making Jesus front and center in their lives.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you have eternal life.

From the moment of that belief, you enter eternal life with Jesus. There is no loss of salvation. There is discipline and growth, but not a consequence of hell for the person who got saved.

Many supposed loss of salvation verses are about judgment on earth for the saved..not eternal judgment..and also many verses referring to those who never were saved.

It is always possible to doubt one's salvation, just as one can doubt anything, and the more important something is to the individual, the easier it becomes to doubt. But doubt never changes reality.

No, Abraham was the physical ancestor of people who became Jews and Muslims,
and the spiritual father of those who have faith in God/Christ.

Yes, because doubt is the reason we walk by faith.
They are two sides of the same coin.

When we accept bad doctrine as true, God uses it to drive us to repentance. Sometimes, our response is to double-down on the doctrine that broke us. Hopefully, if God's patience lasts long enough, one will realize that the doctrine is in error and will turn from it to the truth.

The lost are saved from the second death by coming to Christ. By His Spirit they become sons of God.
If a son of God is in sin He cannot come to Christ again. He is already in Christ. He must confess and repent of his sin. This saves him from the schemes of, and the pursuit of, the enemy.

Hi Musicmaster.

I often have a hard time with some of these questions in the light of scripture's in the word of GOD and frankly do not entertain them.
1. Why would one think they lost their salvation?
They are in sin and have not repented. Suffering condemnation that they have done the unforgiveable sin.
2. The word of God doesn't say one can lose their salvation. I have yet to see that in the Bible. One loses their keys, wallet etc.
was that done on purpose? We have a bad habit of dwelling on unedifying things.
3. No I did not earn salvation, saved by grace through faith not of works.
I don't believe water baptism saves Jesus does water baptism is what saved people as a act of obedience.

Very true, once we "know" what is true, it becomes very easy to find a reason to doubt anything that challenges that belief. It can even take God a while to convince us that we are believing a lie.

Yes, this is why TSers are saved (Matt. 7:7, Heb. 11:6).
In order to be a TSer, one must be willing to repent of wrong.
In my case it was belief in OSAS = the P in TULIP that the SBC affirmed.

John Baptist said to Jesus .It is You that should baptize me.Thats is the Seal of many gift blessings that Jesus fullfilled,To Recieve .after being sealed by Holy Spirit babtism .
most people I know get a real truth of acknowledgement from the Holy Spirit. A real event in most cases can only get out one word ,my case :Jesus .
A friend amazed me by saying two words "The Blood". That Holy Ghost experience is the seal and the Name is absolute Jesus ..
So for me its, rooted even under a rock can't be removed
