I had a dream last night where I was invading a child slave ring in a third word country sneaking around like a commando trying to find them to set them free. I snuck into what seemed to be a small outpost and didn't realise there was someone in there, they seemed to be of high rank and I knew that he abused children, out of self defence for stopping him from sounding the alarm I stabbed him in the heart, not caring so much for my actions but not being angry either it was completely self defence. When I left the room I hid under a storage shelf as I could hear a guard coming, he had a sniffer dog which sniffed me out and he didn't realise someone was there until I rolled out, as the young guard (20's) stumbled for his gun (at this point I knew what I had to do but wish he didn't see me) I tackled him and attempted to stab him in the heart first one missing then the fatal blow to the heart, I could tell that all he was doing was his job and that he was a good person but as he was dying I just felt compassion and just wanted to comfort him and as he was struggling I grabbed his face and tried to get his eye contact, as he looked me in the eyes I said it's ok it's ok just please ask for Jesus. At that moment he looked over my right shoulder and a look of massive relief and calmness came over him and then he died. After this I woke up.

At that point in my dream I knew Jesus helped comfort him. I have been repenting of my sins and have had a drastic change of heart since before I was saved. All I want to do in life now is teach people the word whilst I help them, I believe that I am doing what Galatians talks about, crucifying the flesh, I asked Jesus to help me love more and show me what I need to repent of.

I am worried this dream shows a violent reaction but I also feel like in my dream it was the only possible thing to do to not be found. I guess I just want to know what these kind of actions mean... should I repent of murder because it is in my heart as a course of action against someone who threatens my life. Because the commandment even says you can commit murder in your heart. Any input would be my much appreciated

Can you control what you dream? We cant control what happens in our dreams. Some say dreams have a mirror meaning to what you actually see. Example I dreamed one time I was in prison and I remember in that dream feeling very anxious.

Well my life at that time was filled with anxiety and I felt stuck at a job I was dreading and was in pain.

So my dream was using the feelings of anxiety and feeling stuck to recreate images our brain can associate with them feelings.

But most of my dreams are random and seemingly pointless. So maybe all dreams are not like that.

Either way if you feel in the real world the sins of the dream then repent. But if you wake and can completely think wow that dream was bad and you self conscience choose to drop it and not dwell on it. Then move on.

The point is we are only responsible for what we do when we are consciously awake in a healthy format of brain function.

Also dreams many times can be a glimpse of your carnal mind without God to influence you.

You are not in control of your dreams, so no need to repent. Only repent of sins of commission or sins of omission. Please don't beat yourself up about things outside of your control.

It sounds like a normal dream to me. What's interesting is that you had the mind to lead the guard to Christ before he died. Sounds like your heart is in the right place to me.

If that was a real situation, then it probably would have went down differently and you probably would have just knocked the guy out instead. In a dream, no one would have control of that kind of common sense.

but let's look at a hypothetical situation. If you kill the guard, he gets saved and goes to heaven. Or. You just knocked him out and he never gets saved and goes to hell later in life.

There are a lot of things you can get out of this. If you feel like God is trying to tell you something, then you should look at it as closely as possible.

Don't create drama where there is none. It's just a dream. Dreams aren't literal. Forget it and move on.

A dream is just a dream. Sometimes things that happen in the day can trigger them, and sometimes it is just electrical activity in the brain. Never worry!

Thanks everyone, I know the common thing is saying that it was just a dream. But I never used to have dreams and I have been asking Jesus to help me find what I need to fix in my heart, I also see that the drastic difference in my heart in the way I acted towards this Gaurd. Normally if I had a dream like this I would angrily defend myself and not care after.

So I guess maybe it was a teaching to me I don't know but I am becoming a new man and I think this maybe a reflection of my current heart. Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply all is appreciated.

If anyone is struggling I recommend re reading Galatians and also a wonderful book called the courts of heaven.

God bless

Some dreams do have meaning. Most do not. And don't let anyone here tell you otherwise. They have no idea.

I've dreamed I could fly without wings or vehicle. I've never flown.

I've dreamed I had to cut off someone's face to save my husband. I've never had to cut off someone's face.

I've dreamed if I don't find a bathroom soon, I will pee in my pants. I've never peed in my pants, (at least to my memory. Probably did when I was being potty trained.)

A dream is a dream. It doesn't make it real.

I'm just wondering, since everyone said the same thing, does that mean this is the post with "no idea?"

It was probably just a implanted dream by the dark power so's you doubt yourself thus your faith and belief.

I got'em all the time, the dark power have the power to make you do stuff in dream that you would never do in reality.

It's a way of familiarize you with the bad stuff that they want you to do.

Or it was just a random dream that meant nothin, happen all the time to all folk.

No one said dreams never have meaning. We're answering about how the OP reacted to this specific dream, which is an overreaction. Great job putting words in people's mouths and insulting them through your own inability to understand the obvious. Another CCer whose ego says "I know the truth everyone else is wrong"

An interesting dream
You want to avenge the innocent
And put the wicked to death
Because of your zeal you feel you must repent
Because you would kill indiscriminate
Of the dream itself, you need not repent
The dream itself is not about murder
It is only the example
But rashness, this is what you need to work on
And I don't mean that as an insult at all
Patience is one of the hardest gifts for anyone to attain
Because you have to learn to wait
But from patience comes wisdom, and from wisdom comes justice
From justice comes mercy, and from mercy comes forgiveness
From forgiveness comes real love
And love is what is good about God
It is good He has sent you this dream
It is a good lesson, and one for everyone it would seem.

You really cannot control what happens in your dreams. Murder in the heart is hating someone in your heart. Even if you have violent thoughts about a person, that does not mean you hate them. One could very well love their spouse and have a thought that pops into their mind about stabbing them in the back. You cannot help what pops into your mind or what you dream. Sometimes dreams can be affected by what you watched the previous day. I once watched a little of the show Criminal Minds and saw a horrible dream that a person had in the show and later on I had a nightmare that I woke up from and physically punched the air like I was hitting the person in my dream. Once I dreamed a spider was coming towards me and I woke up kicking my legs. If you have a thought come to mind such as I hate this person, then you might want to check your heart for hate. Know that you could still love a person and still have that thought pop into your mind. It is a different story if you are relishing in the thought.

You just displayed your ignorance about what I was referring to. I hope in other matters you investigate a little deeper or ask questions before assuming.
