I was asked the following question which gave me pause to think about this..

"Do you believe that people will still have dreams and visions from God today?"

We know what the Bible says will happen at the end..
Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

We seemed to have gotten a slew of people lately saying they have had dreams and visions from God and most have turned out to be false or worse, teaching doctrines of demons. So how will the Holy Spirit be poured out in the end times if not in dreams and visions, and how will they know if it is truly the Holy Spirit versus a unclean or evil spirit.

We are told to take ALL things to Him for His confirmation. Have been for 2,000 years.

We are told to test the spirits in 1 John 4. We are told how to do so. The problem is that people are fascinated by anything “spiritual” instead of recognizing that we exist in a spiritual battle and that our enemy seeks to deceive us.

Joel 2:28 is referring to the last days of Israel, as Peter said in Acts 2:17. Jesus implied the best wine is saved for last

Precious friend, Great question to ask because of confusion about the matter.
With God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided, we find:

In God's ( earthly ) Context of prophecy / Covenants / law

Christ, the Humble Servant ( on earth ) taught the gospel of
the kingdom to 12 apostles, for the Twelve tribes of Israel...
(Matthew - John):

At Pentecost we have a fulfillment of Joel_2:28 and Acts_2:17, for
"The Last Day's of Prophecy Specifically For God's "nation of Israel".

Now the Important Question Is: Are these for the "Body Of Christ"? See below...

Rightly Divided (2Ti 2:15) From "Things That Differ!" (online)

In God's Other ( Heavenly ) Context Of Grace, According To His
"Revelation Of The Mystery" (Romans - Philemon)

Christ, The Glorified Lord Of Heaven Revealed to One apostle, The
Gospel Of The Grace Of God, for The One Body Of Christ:

In Paul's Love Letters From God To us, we find The Following:

"...we walk By faith, and Not By sight..." (2_Corinthians 5:7 AV)

Thus, In The Dispensation Of Grace, "dreams and visions" are excluded, Correct?

But, we do Find The Following About "The Last Days Of Grace":

"But this know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall
be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient
to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false
accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady,
highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God" (2_Timothy 3:1-4)

Thus we find in God's Two Different programs, two different "last days" Information
Which Certainly Do Not harmonize
with one another, Correct?

The false and counterfeit will always be around, at least until Jesus returns. That's why we are urged to "test the spirits" (1 John 4:1).

You do not need to depend on dreams and visions, although God still uses them. I was warned to leave a church through a dream. I shared it with the pastor, who said that others had said much the same thing. Others stayed on. A few years later, many showed up at the church I was then attending. It had collapsed spectacularly, exactly as I saw in my dream.

I've had other dreams that were "perhaps" from God. I wait for confirmation. It's okay to say, "I'm not sure".

Deception is rampant in the Western church at present and has been for decades. People either do not know their Bible or just accept what they hear from a pastor. We must check every supposed prophecy against God's word.

For example, one "prophet" spoke about revival. Who does not want that? Then he stated that the Holy Spirit was now Lord. he based it on one scripture that he twisted. He ignored the other scriptures that declare the supremacy and Lordship of Christ. I immediately crossed him of my list of people to listen to. When I get a bit more time, I will give some advice as to how to discern what is of God and what is not.

You have given a good example of a misunderstanding promoted by many. You do not have to wait for the Holy Spirit to be poured out. He was poured out 2,000 years ago, on the day of Pentecost. All we need do is receive Him as a gift. Benny Hinn used to "sell" the Holy Spirit for $1,000. And people were ignorant enough to pay. He's since repented of that evil. I don't know if he's refunded the money!

Well i have had dreams from God.. So of course i believe in dreams..

I have never had any visions, but if a person has had visions i am ok with that too..

The LORD can communicate with His children as He wills to do it...

Gods Word tells us the bar which to measure..

Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Yes but that means “consistent with” and not “exclusively from or through”.

Run everything by the Word of God first.

When someone claims to hear from God, it's appropriate to ask Why would God speak to this person.
First, are they SAVED< or not.
I won't waste my time with false prophecies. That eliminates TV so called "words of knowledge".
I heard false Gospels so many times that I have to ask Why would God speak through those guys and preacherettes who claim to have Divine knowledge, YET preach false gospels.
Not happening.

They are either:
A. Hearing from another spirit OR
B. Speaking from their own imaginations.

If a person is SAVED and they are walking with the Lord, they have promises from the Bible available to them.

I John
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.

When we put the Lord first consistently, we will see prayers answered and circumstances that He brings together.

Elisha heard from the Lord and told the kind lady that a 7 year famine was coming, so travel to a location not under God's judgement.
When she returned, it was in perfect timing with the king hearing from Elisha's servant about a miracle of the woman's child raised back to life.
That was no coincidence.
God did that for her.
The king gave her back her land and all the fruit grown on that land since she left.

That was God's blessing to the one who blessed His prophet.
It was a circumstantial way the Lord spake too. Not audibly, but to visibly meet her and her family's needs.

God is not adding to His written Word new revelation . He is doing what He always has in unique ways. Those who have eyes to see will believe and sceptics can choose to believe what they wish.

Once again, this time in English?
What does Christ mean when He says depart from Me ye workers of iniquity. What is iniquity...

Matthew 7:22-23
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 13:41
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Matthew 23:28
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Matthew 24:12
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Luke 13:26-28
26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

It is transgression of the Law, violation of what God has set forth for mankind, sin of which the wages are death.

“Iniquity” is usually used to mean “intentional sin” and is distinguished from unintentional defilement.

Its like when you are pulled over doing 68 in a 45 mph zone (real incident on the news) versus passing a blinking school bus almost killing the child (again a real incident) will the officer say 'oh, it was unintentional' and look the other way. What will the judge do....?
