I'm going to take my second driving test tomorrow but I'm nervous. I failed the test yesterday because I messed up on the parallel park (something I feel like shouldn't count so much toward failing the test). I've been practising with my mom and I believe I've it down. But then there's the road test. When I'm driving with my sister or dad I'm calm, I make minor mistakes but I still do a decent job. But whenever my mom teaches me, she makes me so nervous I can't relax. She took me on a highway my instructor might test me on and it was a nightmare. She just kept yelling and she'd have me focus on one thing only to immediately have me do something while I'm in the middle of doing what she asked. My instructor seems like the hardened type, so I'm nervous for tomorrow. So please pray that I'm able to be calm, focused, and responsive tomorrow.

Try not to worry, I failed my first test and passed second time. The first time you really don't know what to expect but the second time is easier as you know what's coming. Driving with family members when learning is never a good idea. I passed at aged 23 so....I will pray God's guidance.

Frankly, it scares the ___ out of me to think that one more driver who has to have perfect conditions in order to drive well is going to be added to the ranks of the many already out there. Handling frustrations, nervous uncertainties and irritations is one of the marks of a good driver.
 
My advice is to just be calm and confident with it even if you do mess up, I remember for me i pretty much screwed up the parking, turned off without doing all of the signs and stuff, but because i was chill and relaxed with it i passed anyways. I failed the written exam like 7 times though, but passed the actual driving one the first time. So yea, Good luck ill be praying for you.
 
I forgot to add...don't forget your mirrors, it's important the examiner observes you using them. You have this!
 
Prayers you will pass and have peace and become a good safe driver with no accidents. Also prayers for your mom that she will have more peace in her life and less worry.

You make a good point, but everyone teaches differently, and frankly even good drivers make mistakes in some aspect of driving occasionally. I don't need perfect conditions, there situations I can handle that many driver novices are afraid of. It's just test anxiety, that's all.

First, I don't think I've ever known anyone who passed their first driving exam. (I just had to prove to the test-giver, that I knew I had the right of way at a four-way stop by going without actually coming to the full stop first. :o)

Second, parallel parking means a whole lot. I spent the first half of my driving life living in the burbs or the sticks. Never seemed like much of a need. And then I moved into the city. If I did not remember "start turning the wheel back once your seat aligns with the back of the car your parking behind," I'd be the idiot who had to run into the house to grab hubby to park our car for me. We have bumper-to-bumper parking everywhere, and those are the good days. The bad days are when all the spots are taken. (Our car is parked at the other end of the block, and we had to park there because we used it for grocery shopping yesterday. How gracious the Lord was to me, when it was just me shopping. lol)
