As previously reported, the duck hunter sparked controversy last week after he made several homophobic and racially charged remarks in an interview published in the January 2014 issue of GQ.

Seeing someone like a reporter, who is supposed to be an objective professional, make remarks such as "homophobic," this then becomes my expectation for the future of humanity:

Like the Zimmerman trial, this incident also defines the media...

A few thoughts if I may? Though my thoughts may not be popular among some here, I'll venture an opinion/analysis, against my better judgment, in the remote hope that some reading this may learn to discern truth from illusion.


1. Duck Dynasty IS NOT a Christian show, furthermore, is there any such thing as a Christian Show on the Satanic networks today? I believe it to be highly unlikely. If there are, please feel free to list them.

2. Any self respecting, God fearing Christian wouldn't touch any show on the networks with a 10 foot cattle prod, nor would they donate to and support these Satanic networks by subscribing to cable TV. Let's face the unpleasant facts for a moment, how many of those who pay a monthly subscription to cable TV, donate the same or greater (or any) amount to your local homeless shelter or food pantry for the less fortunate who truly need a leg up in the world? I respectfully submit to you, is a network executive who makes hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars a year to promote Satanic programming that spiritually kills the masses, really worth voting (with your dollar) for? Here's an interesting word, perhaps some of you have heard it before...boycott.

3. Yes, for purposes of curiosity and a desire to be at least semi-devoid of ignorance, I did view bits and pieces of a few episodes from Season 1 on Youtube (as much as I could tolerate).

Really? Is this what passes for Christian these days?

4. The truth of the matter is...Duck Dynasty is a complete farce, or illusion of a Christian show, which makes a mockery of Christ and the Father. It's not Christian even though there are some Christian themes. What Duck Dynasty really does is make a laughing stock of the true Christians who walk the walk and really live their faith.

5. Ask yourself, WWJD? What would the Apostles do? What would the Church Fathers like Timothy do? Star on a Reality TV show? Would they make complete asses of themselves for public spectacle and amusement? Yes, I said asses...after viewing the show, I found that the word fits very well, and most, if not all of you, have heard (and used) much worse, but if you want to get your feathers ruffled and throw stones over a word, so be it. The way I look at things, there are much bigger fish to fry.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also.

6. I have to agree with Maxwel on a very major point of interest as well. Think on this equation if you will.

Controversy + Gossip = Ratings = Advertising Revenue = Profit

Think about A&E also, does this network strike anyone as the bastion of Godliness or Christian faith, or is it a business as usual network? Is it really that hard to believe that networks stage scenarios dealing with controversial subjects such as...homosexuality? Another possibility, A&E's Duck Dynasty ratings were so low and the show was about to be cancelled, and affiliated news (read gossip) networks could make extra revenue for reporting (read gossiping) on the controversy, or as with many shows, a little boost to the ratings, via perceived impropriety, was needed to keep the executives happy. Exploiting and deceiving the masses, wherever there is a dollar to be made, or fuss to be bickered about, seems to be the modus operandi of the enemy (read Satanic networks).

Seriously now, if you have a pig-pen with a herd of pigs wallowing in the mire, what are the chances that any pig living in that same pen wouldn't also be covered in feces? The same logic must also apply for any show in the pig-pen.





Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.

No it is NOT a "Christian" show... but they are Christians who stood up to the networks demands of wanting them to use cussing and resort to attention grabbing methods to raise ratings!!! They have emphatically declined to resort to such methods, and have come from various struggles with coming into a relationship with Christ and sticking to it. (Drugs, alcohol etc.) I respect them for their stand against the "popular" methods of ratings boosters and while I do not watch television except maybe a show or two here and there once a month when available, I have watched a couple episodes and rather enjoyed the clean absence of vulgarity and scantily clad cast! And while A&E is not by any means a Faith based network … they are in essence meeting the Godless where they are spending a majority of their time and money while showing that you don't have to eliminate humor from your life and be a ramrod stiff straight laced legalistic person to follow Christ!...

In regard to the mini sermon~ I think it confirms that Phil did the right thing!! He stood up for his beliefs and God's standard in spite of the possible consequences or negative repercussions (if he knew of the possibility) BUT even if he did know they would choose to remove him from the show... I firmly believe that he would have still made the same choice statements!~

Was also viewing a set of comments on another site outside of cc and the negativity toward Phil and the Robertson's and Christianity as a whole ... while not surprising was somewhat disturbing. I do not begrudge anyone the right to voice their opinion however do wish that they would not just blatantly regurgitate information they hear without checking into the logic or truth to their statements. Although most of it is directed towards non Christian comments and views I thought I would post my comment to them as an encouragement to all of you as well....

My personal comment on the alternate is as follows:
The thing that bothers me the most about the comments here is the fact that a lot of people that are against Phil's comments seem to be overlooking the part that the GQ reporter asked him what he feels is "sin". He began with homosexuality... but was not saying it was the SAME thing as bestiality but simply that it was in the same classification of "sexual sin" the most widely ranging area of human struggles with sin! Lust, pornography, adultery, rape, incest, homosexuality, bestiality, etc. etc. All of which are sin and deal with separate issues but one classification of Sexual Sin... Sex in a manner that was not designed by God of one man and one woman... for the purpose of joining a couple that is married and for reproduction! Two men or two women will not in and of themselves join together to reproduce! And furthermore Phil was not saying anything that the Bible does not confirm. Does his statement or the Bible say that God does not love these people... NO but that he hates that behavior... it is detestable, abhorrent to God, for no other reason than it is contrary to his design of union and procreation. I will not bash, judge, or be condescending to those who choose to take the route of sexual sin over Gods Design for He commands us to Love Him and Love others! I will however stand behind Phil, the Robertson's and any one else who stands firm in their beliefs and is not ashamed of their Christianity, even when it seems to work against them. God will honor their moral convictions and their firm stand against this and other aspects that go against the inerrant Word of God! God Bless You All and I continue to pray for not only the Robertson's in their decisions that lie in the future but also those who lack the understanding or the desire necessary to come to know Christ and His good and perfect plan.

It is a little humorous, but really should make us all sit up and take notice as the world has turned against biblical Christianity and if the "bastion" of freedom has crumbled to the point where a true believer cannot voice the truth then we should all stand horrified and be on our knees praying for strength for what will be coming down the pipe soon.

But when was the world ever for Biblical Christianity? Didn't Jesus tell us this?

So why in the world should we ever be surprised at this type of stuff?

Is it loving to walk up to a fat person and call them fat?

Certainly it is the truth that a fat person can be placing themselves at risk by their behaviors, and on the face of it one might think they are "helping" by pointing this out. But if you are not in a proper "place" for expounding your views on the deleterious nature of excess body weight, it is quite unlikely the fat person will "get" the message you, as Christian, "should" intend - one of loving concern and a desire to help. In fact, if you are not the proper one to bring this message, it is far more likely your message will be viewed as one meant to be hurtful and hate-filled.

Who is "wrong"?

The fat person who is hurt by your message therefore ignores it, or YOU for failing to be loving enough to recognize when you might cause others to suffer in your (potentially) vain attempt to spread "God's Word"...

Now I am not saying in any way that Phil is "wrong"; scripturally he is spot on from all I've seen. I also do not know if he was pushed into a corner where his only Christian response was to decry the actions of homosexuals as sinful. If he were, then certainly he should not deny his Lord and Savior, deny his God, deny the Holy Spirit, and make a statement contrary to Scripture. But did he have a possible choice to be more loving?

That is the question we ALL must ask ourselves when we go forth amongst our fellows and expound a message solely of God's law, rather than Christ's gospel as well. If we fail to do so, fail to speak the gospel that saves along with the rebukes for things we see, it seems to me that instead of being Godly, we are merely acting to (possibly) build up "brownie points" with God...

Does anyone else find it curious that some of the entries on this discussion have moved far a-field to call into question the beliefs of people like "liberal" CHRISTIANS...

The media certainly is not conservative.

Who perverted what Phill said and came against him? The liberal gays and media.

I know it seems like the liberals are in control with their control of the media and white house but the support Phill has gotten should encourage christians and conservatives that its not over yet.

Show me anything liberalism stands for that is christian. I have been debating online for almost 14 years and I have not heard one liberal ideal that lines up with biblical principle.

The lines have been drawn and they are very clear. Phill Robertson and George Zimmerman's trial has proven without a doubt the bigotry, hatred and the intolerance of liberalism.

Its time to wake up, recognize the difference between following your feelings and submitting to the Holy Spirit, understand biblical principle and what it says is sin, and reject the feel good, self serving, covetous, and christian hating ideology of liberalism.

With respect, I would like to add to JDean's and ShesinHisHands' previous comments...

It is not only the networks, but the affiliated magazines that steer and guide an interview exactly where they want. Remember, they are asking the questions, and you can rest assured the questions they ask are meant to distract from real issues that might actually influence a positive change for the world we live in. Also, any decent lawyer will tell you that during courtroom examination...never ask a witness a question unless you already know the answer that will be given.

I have not read the GQ article, but I would venture to guess that these publications have guidelines and directives, handed down from above (read below?), concerning various hot topics or controversies that are guaranteed to cause division, while conveniently raising TV ratings and magazine sales.

Gay marriage, and homosexual rights issues, just happen to be one of many in their bag of tricks. Does anyone remember abortion? Isn't it about time one of these networks ran another play on abortion to give people something to argue and protest about? These corporations really do have the pulse of the people.

Yet another thing to consider, most networks and publications today are owned by a very small group of people. Though a network or publication may seem to be in competition, more often than not, it is an illusion projected by the owners (read masters) of these corporations, of which we are all unknowing employees and patrons.

In closing, I'm sure that EVERYONE involved in this interview knew exactly what would be asked, answered, and what the corresponding effect would be. As a chess player, I'm often thinking 10 moves in advance and I'm just a novice. Imagine what the professional players are able to do? Consider the word psy-ops, it's applications and permutations.
