Edit issues....
Just today, I went back and read where I said themself, ugh!!! Plural and singular in one word...😳🙄🤔. I sometimes will put an are where an is should be and visa versa. Sometimes, I write a sentence so run on that I can almost see it doing a target heart rate chk in the middle of it, lol. The mistakes made can go on and on.
If only I'd take my time, editing first before pushing that dern post or send button....
If only we'd always edit all our thoughts, words and actions before we applied them... what a difference we'd make in the lives of all our neighbors, familial and otherwise, not to mention ourselves.
So many things lost in translation, so many things misunderstood, so much unnecessary mistakes, conflict and strife. I am not too hard on myself or others, though, because that is what growth is all about. We are all His work in progress.
We stumble, we fall, we get up and make adjustments, watching more carefully where we go.
We are not alone. We have His divine spirit, teaching, guiding and correcting us along the way. It can cause great frustration and fatigue if we ignore His work within, or we can follow His lead and find great peace.
So many out in the world today deeply hurting, in so much pain. We have no idea what they have gone through or are now going through. He knows their damaged estates and ours too.
He calls us to be good stewards of that which He creates. I just want to encourage myself and others to find that balance, extending mercy without enabling, between being patient, mindful, and thoughtful, without walking on eggshells.
We all have different personalities. Some are more direct and gritty, others more gentle. I find value in both and those which are in between.
God made us all so very different. He has blessed us all, so much, with one another. We can be super intentional, and still conflict will arise. Sometimes, trying too hard creates more chaos (man oh man, do I know this), but that doesn't mean we don't try. I just feel we should never stop editing and growing, looking to see if there is mercy in what we dish out.
With all that said, maybe if we'd just be still and let the Holy Spirit lead, He can do the heavy lifting where growth is concerned.
I do not know, so maybe it is best to start editing on my knees.
