she obviously wanted everyone's 'approval' that it's ok to try and live without God, yet the consequences are huge.
Exactly right silverwind. There is no such thing as a lukewarm Christian. You either are for Him or against Him. To be for Him is to understand first that sin leads to death. God gave us His commandments to keep because He loves us, not because He wants to make our lives boring. The price it took for the wages of sin to be paid were the very precious blood of the only begotten Son of God, which is the biggest demonstration of love that God has ever shown for us. Therefore, if we understand both of those, then we have no reason to desire even in our minds to please our flesh, and turn our backs on the Word of God through which all things were made. Sinning willfully while knowing is wrong and practicing it is an attribute of someone who doesn't understand the price that it takes to follow Christ, and the price that it took for us to be able to.

I'm not condeming her or attacking her if you are referring to me. I don't do that to people. It is our responsibility as christians to speak the truth and to speak it how Jesus would have with the sword of the spirit and with love. If you feel condemned, that is something between you and God.

I have been there too! It was about a week ago... it was SO close to giving up on Jesus... I was in so much pain.. things were hard.. and i didnt understand why he would let things get so bad... I prayed and prayed... confessed... And i prayed again... and I thought to myself... "Why am I praying to Jesus? why am I asking him to do his will in my life? why is it so painful? where is his love?" and then... Something amazing happend.. I rememered his words... "I am the way, the truth and the life!" I wasnt going to jesus... Jesus was coming to me... He chose me.. i didnt chose him.. he LOVED me 1st!! not the other way round. HIS LOVE WILL NEVER CHANGE FOR YOU, dont give up when it seems hopless... because his love will NEVER FAIL! I promise you this...take it from me... i have been there.
Renewedheart. Your advice to her is of the greatest intention, but her situation is very different than yours. The best we can do is pray for her and ask God to do a mighty work in her life. Oh and btw, she is banned =/

Hello everyone,
There is a great sermon on the Cornerstone Simi Audio Podcast on iTunes, called Falling Deeply in Love with God. If there is anything I have taken away from the sermon, it is this,
to not love God is to not know how much he loves YOU. How much he absolutely is crazy about you, he wants you more than any of those things you mentioned-to the thread poster.
The pastor makes a subsequent point that I think would benefit everyone else, and that is that you can not make anyone fall in love with God, it is something that God allows through the holy spirit, which is above and beyond all understanding. That means, the best thing to do is pray on someone elses behalf. That being said-to the poster-I am praying for you! Whether you like it or not! You're my sibling in Christ, and I don't know you, but it pains me to know that you don't know the how much God is head over heels for you, like he is just absolutely in love with you! But, I will intercede and see you in heaven. Best of luck, and if I could so kindly ask anyone else who feels so inclined to pray as well. Much love to you all.

I know where you're coming from, although I wasn't brought up in a christian family. Just remember that Jesus isn't anything like these christians you mention. You don't have to believe in christians, just remember who is the one who truly loves you. No one on earth can ever give you the amount of love that Jesus has for you, and he will be ecstatic if you ever decide to love him back again.

I was not judging Adrian. I was stating a fact.
In zero's opinion that is how he sees christians.

There's a difference between being judgemental and stating the obvious. We were just stating the obvious. You are acting somewhat like a typical christian, which means pulling a bunch of biblical accusations out of thin air and boldly directing them at some unsuspecting victim.
I just like stating the obvious. I don't go spewing scripture at someone saying that they never knew Jesus or were never saved when I don't know that person at all. But you're right its like a mirror looking into another mirror, seeing itself reflected in itself to infinity.
