Nothing is able to separate us from Jesus, God is more powerful then any force. Salvation by faith is always there ready to completely save us because of Jesus, but there are conditions that we are asked to meet. We are free to choose, if i don't want to be saved i can choose to separate myself from Jesus and die without salvation. If i want to be saved when i'm 14 years old does that mean i am forced to be saved no matter what i want latter in life. Will God force me against my will to be in heaven? Lucifer was perfect and free to choose, he was safe in God, with life eternal, he was loved by God and very close to God. But God allowed Lucifer to choose, he was a free moral agent.
Jesus said
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13 But he that
shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Some people will not endure because of the sin or iniquity that will abound. this is telling me i will need to continue in Jesus all the way, not just for a day or a week but until the end. Those that don't endure and wax cold because of the iniquity shall not be saved.
We are not forced to be saved or forced to remain saved. We all have a choice.
Jos 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD,
choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Paul was walking in the Spirit, but he even needed to bring his body into subjection so he wasn't a castaway.
1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised
Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Heb 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Heb 10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Heb 10:39 But
we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
If there was no condition that we can draw back or not remain steadfast why would this warning be given?
Rom 11:19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Rom 11:20 Well;
because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches,
take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness,
if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
If, "If thou continue" in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
We can be cut off. the osas teachings are working for the devil. The devil has one goal and that is to separate as many people from Jesus as He can. Jesus tells us to endure and remain faithful, OSAS tells me not to worry once im a child i can't be lost. The devil is a lair and false security is his specialty.
2 Pet 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
Peter is talking to the converted.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to
make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2Pe 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace,
without spot, and blameless.
2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; .....
2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
2Pe 3:18
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
We can be secure in Jesus and know that the life He gives is greater then death, we can be sure that Jesus will continue to do all to save us, but we have the final choice.
