Are you clueless, the only imperial power today with colonies

Greenland is not a colony. Greenland is a territory. You know who has a bunch of those?

Greenland is a colony of Denmark ever since the 1700s. So complaining about the US wanting it is simply the kettle calling the pot black.

I enjoy your twisted logic to defend the madman. Greenland is a territory and that does not give someone the right to go in and take it. The people like the status, so that is that.

No one is planning on invading Greenland, it has the population of a small city, a very small city. Right now Greenland does not have an army, that function is carried out by NATO and that is how it will stay the same. And yes, there is plenty of reason to view Greenland as an extremely strategic location during war time, and right now, it is war time.

And the US is free to use it as a NATO ally. There are no excuses.

Yes, that is that. It is semantics. Yes, this is the kettle calling the pot black.

Well you are an American, contact your elected representative and tell him how you feel. Telling me how you feel is as pointless as me telling you how I feel.

Aww, you get all sarcastic when you are called out and shown your lack of logic. This is called Christian CHAT, there is discussion and debate.

Well, I suppose Russia can take Puerto Rico since it is a territory.

Are you a Christian? It is called theft and there is no excuse. None. He is a madman who had a perfectly good relationship with Greenland but then he drank the Kool-Aid and jeopardized all of it for no reason. They may insist that we leave for good.

Oh there is a reason, but that still does not make it lawful.

Laws, conventions and agreements are set aside by the "Christian" DT sycophants. It is all good, might makes right they preach. Where is that in scripture.

In the end they have shown themselves to be biased humanists and moral relativists, I remember a time when pastors often preached the moral evils of relativism, what happened.

Lack of logic? Logically speaking Trump doesn't care what you or I think. That was my point and you clearly agreed with that since you didn't even bother contacting him.

Yes, I am a Christian and as a Christian I am an ambassador of the kingdom. Ambassadors do not stick their noses into the business of the countries they are in and certainly do not voice negative opinions about it publicly.

So my comments here are not as a Christian, because that would be wrong. My comments here are as an American citizen. As a US citizen I have the right to voice my opinions.

My opinion is that Trump is doing the best he can with the information he has. I do not have access to that information and I am not so arrogant as to think I can do a better job.

Now as a Christian I pray for him that God will give him wisdom and that we can live in peace.

I stand corrected by HeisHere,

Yes, several countries still maintain "colonies," though they are officially called Non-Self-Governing Territories (NSGTs) by the UN, with the United Kingdom, France, and the United States holding the most significant numbers, alongside Australia, Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Norway, governing small islands and territories with varying degrees of autonomy, often for strategic or cultural reasons.

So my point remains. It is hypocritical for Denmark to condemn the US for having colonies when they have colonies. This is what is known as the pot calling the kettle black.

Why would I contact a madman? The damage is done. They were happy to let us have bases there and for no reason he wants to steal it.

Now we may be asked to leave and never come back.

They are territories, not colonies. Colony implies and unwanted presence in which the native are exploited. This is meaningless anyways because the issue is Trump wanted to STEAL against the will of Greenland for no reason. It is not about who has a territory. Denmark is not being a hypocrite, they do not like having their territories threatened. We do not either.

So? If Europe has a problem with the US occupying Greenland to control strategic waterways, then let them do it. That will save us money. Fine with me.

In fact I think it is time for the US to consider leaving NATO, Europe is capable of defending themselves. That will save us even more money.

The definition of colony -- a country or area under the full or partial political control of another country, typically a distant one, and occupied by settlers from that country.

Call them what you want, by definition Greenland is a colony.

How does taking over Greenland accomplish that? We already "control" it and have bases there.

No, it is an autonomous (self governing) territory.

Hold it a second, are you seriously telling us that Trump is wrong to want to control Greenland and you don't even know why? LOL Wow.

Didn't you hear that both Trump and Hegseth pointed out that during WW2 they did control Greenland for strategic reasons to fight the war.

I'm not interested in teaching you the strategic value of Greenland in WW2. So instead I used up 5 seconds of my time to get this from the internet

During World War II, Greenland held significant strategic military value for several key reasons:

Air Routes and Aviation Greenland sat along the great circle route between North America and Europe, making it crucial for transatlantic air operations. The island provided essential staging points and emergency landing sites for aircraft crossing the Atlantic, which was particularly important before long-range aircraft became common. The U.S. established several airbases there, including the critical Bluie West One (now Narsarsuaq) and Bluie West Eight (now Kangerlussuaq/Sondrestrom).

Weather Stations Control of Greenland's weather stations was vital for predicting weather patterns affecting military operations in the North Atlantic and Europe. Weather systems typically moved from west to east, so Greenland provided early warning of conditions that would reach European battlefields. Both the Allies and Germans recognized this importance and fought a little-known "weather war" with competing expeditions trying to establish and destroy each other's weather stations.

North Atlantic Security Greenland's position allowed monitoring of the Denmark Strait and other northern sea routes, helping to protect convoys from U-boat attacks. The U.S. presence there also prevented German occupation, which would have given the Kriegsmarine valuable bases for submarine operations against Allied shipping.

Cryolite Mining The mine at Ivittuut produced cryolite, a mineral essential for aluminum production and therefore aircraft manufacturing. This was one of the only significant sources worldwide, making it strategically vital to deny it to the Axis powers.

After Denmark fell to Germany in 1940, the U.S. effectively took control of Greenland through an agreement with the Danish ambassador, establishing a precedent for American military presence there that extended well into the Cold War.

I do not watch silly videos. Use you words instead of trying to one up a person with a clip of Mr. Bean or whatever.
It is no more silly than trying to reason with you. That was the point. Refusing to admit that Greenland is a colony is no different from the pet shop owner refusing to admit the parrot is dead.
