It's annoying, why can't I watch a good fun TV comedy without someone starting a political debate about it. All this does is ruin the show. Why do people allow themselves to think too deeply about things and just enjoy something they like. Sure there are good and bad things in life and it's up to our discretion to match what we watch with our beliefs. However everything now has to have some type of political undertone. Seriously who cares? I enjoyed life when people cared less about stuff like this.

Streaming is your friend.

Seriously, try one of the streaming offerings, (Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, whatever), and find comedies from the last decade or the last century. Sure, sometimes they reference stuff too, but I, at best, barely get the reference now. (Who was the linebacker the Pats drafted first in 1982? We just started watching Cheers again, and I'm chuckling that Tom Brady was in diapers back then. lol)

Everything in life has to be criticized, politically or otherwise. I was reading a review for a game I was thinking about picking up off gog.com and the reviewer kept going on and on (and on and on and on) about what the developers should have done here and should have done there and they really should have done this with the ending and... Bleh.

I HAVE GOOGLE AND I KNOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT EVERYTHING SO NOW I'M AN EXPERT! AND MY ALL CAPS MAKES ME EVEN MORE EXPERTER!

Basically it's a lot easier to criticize things than to use your brain, so a lot of people criticize.

I totally agree! It's gotten ridiculous.

Yeah, it would be GREAT if the issues important to running our country were *more* politicized and more scrutinized. And the social issues were left largely to social media. Instead we have whole segments of voters who vote for a particular candidate because of the candidate's stance with regard to a given social issue. They vote with total disregard for whether that candidate is qualified to help run our government. As a result the halls of our government are lined with a bunch of corrupt bozos, most of whom are not qualified to run a Kentucky Fried Chicken. This is part of the reason our nation is rapidly going to hell in a handbasket. /steps down of soapbox. Pours coffee.

I think this is the whole essence. It is imperative that the Liberal agenda of making "MAN'S law" preeminent, replaces God's law in every facet of life.

Fascist movements embed themselves into all areas of life. Hitler wrote of this in Mein Kampf. This isn't about just being pushy or self-righteous. It is a strategy.

Since the "fall from Grace," man has politicized things IMO. It has been that way throughout history! We are probably more aware of what is going on today than what has gone on throughout History, and that's why it seems worse today. I'd say the politicizing during the Dark Ages was kinda bad, as was the Holy Wars between the Catholic Church and Muslems.....

One other thing to keep in mind: we are in the End Times. Satan is using everything and anything to divide people and keep them focused on hating one another, so he can pull together his One-World government under the Antichrist. And while nothing divides like extreme political viewpoints, most folks don't want to get all that involved in it. So,Satan pushes it via the media and other venues into every single facet of life that he can, saturating the planet with it and recruiting followers who approve of and enjoy his debauchery and vile filth.

We're looking down the gunbarrel of the Great Tribulation now, and the Rapture can be any day (Yes, I know there are folks who dislike that thought and will certainly try to take my head off for it, but no one is going to shut me up or shut me down about it).

Be ready.

That's one thing I don't hear people mention a lot. We have no perspective so we think "Oh it's so terrible how divided and adversarial everyone is these days!" We never think about how it used to be a LOT worse.

"It's the end of time! Evil is worse than it has ever been before!" Pfft! Evil has been a lot worse before.

Everything but your closing declaration is spot on. Who are the people with understanding who help others to our Lord during the tribulation if they are not our fellows? This is stressed in the B"ook of Daniael.

The 144,000 sealed by the angels of the Lord; the church has no place in the Tribulation, as stressed in Paul's epistles.

I believe satan is using politics to pigeon-hole Christians. And know that I am not one that is going to put down my fellow-Christian for voting for candidates that stand up for Godly values - I would hope that all Christians would do that! But too often when we stand up for our Christian values, we are mis-categorized as something we are not. For example, we are called "haters", extremists, bigots, etc. And with the way the party platforms are in this day, there is very little middle ground!

And sadly, this can and does now also happen when we try to share the Gospel without any political connections. So our testimony is disregarded! This is part of a spiritual battle I believe.
