if you look at the gospel and rest of the new testsment in “the acts of the apostles “
you find that spiritual and demonic activity , is an actual thing . But then you’ll note that Jesus is offering believers authority to have dominion over those spirits and demonic activity in this world so you have this for sure is true
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:11-12 KJV
which manifests itself in ways like this in regards to mankind

then you see a more detailed battle happening in “the acts “ even after Jesus was taken to heaven because now they have the Holy Ghost of Jesus in them and with them always and we’re seeing how this spiritual war is happening on earth and affecting man
“For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.”
Acts 8:7 KJV
Sometimes though it can backfire if we aren’t a real Christian
“Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; (the early Ephesians church ) and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.”

See John , Peter James paul later we’re all casting out demons and spirits from people still but it’s because they had the Holy Ghost in them the Jewish exorcist saw them doing it , tried mimicking them and only invited a violent assault on himself and everyone else there by this demon possessed man
it’s actual spiritual warfare we’re in but when you say exorcism , it sounds more like a catholic idea , Jesus just gave us spiritual authority to overcome evil spirits in our lives we encounter by his name and spirit we don’t need “ excorcisms “ in the old catholic sense or anything Jesus is our intercessor we don’t need a categoric priest just to have received the holy ghost and then have heard faith about the existence of these spiritual principles that were even in a war is hard for many to accept
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

much of what hinders us in this world is spiritual corruption and complacency it just manifests in things like addictions and many forms of sinful living that’s actually a sign of spiritual issues within
Spiritual warfare is an actual real issue we have to face our own self and with our brothers and sisters in Christs spirit and name of we don that we can overcome evil spiritual beings like Satan and demons but when we’re tempted we have to resist Satan because he’s trying to get us to serve his Will rather than Gods

Bodily exercise profits little, but it is of some profit.
As far as demon possession, it still happens these days, just as it did at the time Jesus was on the earth. I have cast out a powerful devil that tried to murder me.
Keep in mind that they don't frequently manifest in those who they use to deceive others, like politicians and preachers.
Why is that?
Think about it.
Who would be more deceptive and convincing, a maniac or a calm charasmatic individual?
Some preachers, like those who specialize in "deliverance" tell people that everything is demonic.....for instance,
You got injured?
That was always a demon.
You got a cold?
We gotta cast out that demon of sickness.

It's my dry sense of humor.
I've exercised AND excised demon(s) from the body of a lady who it used to try to murder me.
Guess who won?
The Lord did.

I suddenly realized what was going on with Maria and what had been controlling her.
ALL fear left.
I began spiritual warfare and the Lord prevailed.
"Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord!"
Demonic possession is a real thing exorcism also. I read recently that cases are on the rise ( easy to understand if we look at the state of this world today ) I forget where but I saw an interview about a priest, saying that exorcism requests have really increased. I do not like demonology stuff however and never read the details of such exorcisms.. yes the possessed do exist. Please do not dig deep into this topic some knowledge is not good to have, it may influence in a negative way or corrupt how one might think, these ideas may linger and cause trouble avoid as much as possible. I wish Eve would not have eaten of the forbidden fruit.

Just so you know not everyone believes its happening today, as you can already tell I belong to the minority on this topic, I will give you a brief overview of my belief just so you understand a little of why I believe demons are not currently active, I will try and not go into it to much, by all means check what I say against scripture.
The fallen angels/demons were cast out when the Lord was here on earth and afterward as recorded in scripture, the fallen angels/demons are now in hades/abyss 2pet 4:4 Jude 6
In the day of wrath when God pours out His Judgment onto the world, the pit will be opened and the demons will be released onto the earth to again torment people. Rev 9:1-12
Why does God do this? well He put serpents amongst Israel to drive them to look to their Lord. Num 21:4-9
He did this at His first coming And He will do this again in the tribulation, and they will look to the one whom was lifted up, the one whom they pierced when He returns at His second coming.
There is so much collaboration I see in the scriptures for this, Yet how I read certain verses is the opposite to how most see them, So my only advice is to consider what Im saying and test everything, Ill just give one example in the meantime, this parable for example...
Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
Mat 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Mat 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Those who believe demons are currently running around terrorising everybody and everything, believe they can be cast out and when they are cast out roam around looking for the next person they can enter and torment. And they use the scriptures I just quoted, seems funny to me, like a never ending cycle that has no real purpose that I can ascertain.
Yet I look at the verses differently I see the house as Israel and the house has been swept clean, which is the current state of Israel now as the demons were cast out and bound till today, so being swept clean of demons, they are in a arid dry place, a description as in the pit, remember the rich man wanting a drop of water? Then in the coming terrible day of Judgment which is the tribulation, The demons will be released find Israel in a worse state and again torment them to drive them to their coming Messiah.
Anyways Im just scratching the surface, and as I said im in the minority, people will strongly disagree which they are allowed, so just check what they say to scripture as well and hope you come to an understanding that makes sense.
What makes you think it stopped? If anything, demonic possession is even worse today than ever before? Did you notice all those people screaming for the murder of babies after Roe v Wade was kicked out? Only the demon Moloch would want babies sacrificed to him. And this has been going on for decades.
are you aware there's a difference between the fallen Angels [locked away now] from Genesis 6 and their offspring souls of the nephilim who became demons?
the Angels were locked away immediately after they had sex with women.
the nephelim was still around after the Flood of Noah.
the demons Jesus encountered who asked [[if it was the time]] were not locked away and free to roam. Jesus did not send any demon to Hell he cast out.
demons are very active today!
I'm sure that it is never diagnosed as such by our modern medical community. God has been thrown out of the hospitals just like He has been thrown out of schools. That would logically lead to denying the existence of Satan as well.
The root problem of everything is being born under sin. I would think of all lost souls as being bound by sin and darkness. The Cure is the same for all.
While that view is interesting for sure, I dont see it that way for a few reasons, one being that the word nephilim only appears twice in the bible, and is translated as giants in the versions I read,
Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that
Num 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
It seems obvious that it is men refereed to here, as Caleb even saw them as physical beings of great stature, from this I even conclude that Goliath was a offspring and also a nephilim
I know this has become a popular view but I have trouble ascribing to it, there is just to many holes in the theory for me, The Line of Seth being faithful followers of God and becoming heirs(Sons) of Gods, is what makes the most sense to me.
I mean if angels are the reason for the flood we are basically blaming them for the sin that filled the earth, seems like we are trying to absolve mans role in Sin. And also if it was the women that willfully or un-willfully sleeping with angels why do we Men bare the brunt of the judgement of a flood?
Yet Gen 6:5 says it was because of mans wickedness not because of the angels wickedness
Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Also everything can only breed after its own kind, no matter how often you mate a dog with a sheep you are never going to get a hybrid sheep dog...
So to say a angel mating with a human will get a hybrid spirit being/demon seems far fetched on multiple scales.

as you have stated Jesus did indeed cast them out but not directly into the abyss. Yet we have the account in Peter and Jude that concludes the fallen angels are now bound, interesting I presume you used the demoniac account in Mt 8 as reference to angels not being cast into Hell, as the swine ran into the deep sea(abyss) A word play that to me ironically confirms that demons are now in the abyss/pit but I suppose its a complicated parable, also in the sense of the 2 men, 2000 swine(yet the number of demons is unknown)and the inference to the gentiles.
Maybe Ill go over and explain in detail later.
Yet ive never seen one nor will I see one, considering I believe the bible says they are not out and about today thats not surprising really I suppose, but notice after a demon was cast out the man went and told the whole town, and the whole town was amazed at the mans exorcism and now normal state, What Im saying is demon possession was very real and everyone believed in them and saw them, both believers and unbelievers, the gospel accounts seem to show a very different picture to the very sneaky invisible demons of today.
I honestly believe when the pit/abyss is opened and the demons once again roam the earth tormenting men, people and I mean believers and non believers will go ah... Demons are real and this is what they actually do.

I can't help but notice similarities between demon possession in the Bible and things we classify as mental illness. Today we treat it with drugs but this doesn't exorcise any demons, it just puts a band-aid on the problem. If a person stops taking the drugs their symptoms return.
Exorcism in the Bible was instantaneous, not like the ridiculous things you see in the movies or from the likes of Bob Larson and Kathryn Krick.
So in summary, I believe demon possession is as real as it ever was but I don't know of any genuine exorcists with powers like we see in the Bible. If there are any, it's the best kept secret on the planet.
There are a few Catholic priests who claim to be exorcists. But those claims are generally not made by evangelicals. Unless one has personally seen what happens and what is the end result, it is best to reserve judgment.
For what you ask..yes it still happens today. Its not something one ever seeks out. As it was in Christ day when He went to city/town all He could do was lay hands a few and preach because of doubt and unbelief. Many walk by what they see hear feel not by faith. Now go into some 3rd world countries and its everywhere. Those countries understand believe in magic voodoo you name it.
Where there is doubt and unbelief that's exactly what they will see. You want to be around those that believe the word whats written. Its not what I say or anyone else. Make sure its written.. in the word goes in line with the word. There is a way the sweet Holy Spirit talks...Phil 2.. how we talk/treat about others shows you the heart of one speaking.
