Acts 8:16-19
[SUP]14 [/SUP]The apostles in Jerusalem heard that the people of Samaria had accepted the word of God. So they sent Peter and John to the people in Samaria. [SUP]15 [/SUP]When Peter and John arrived, they prayed for the Samaritan believers to receive the Holy Spirit. [SUP]16 [/SUP]These people had been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, but the Holy Spirit had not yet come down on any of them. This is why Peter and John prayed. [SUP]17 [/SUP]When the two apostles laid their hands on the people, they received the Holy Spirit.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Simon saw that the Spirit was given to people when the apostles laid their hands on them. So he offered the apostles money. [SUP]19 [/SUP]He said, “Give me this power so that when I lay my hands on someone, they will receive the Holy Spirit.”
Lest us discuss here
The bible says that in line 14, “people of Samaria accepted the word of God” just like you and me when we accepted the word of Christ in the beginning when we first become Christians.
And they “baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
And then it says that “they send Peter and John”- Why do they have to send peter and John?
“Peter and john prayed for the Samaritan believer”- they accepted word Jesus
Christ and they believed Just like you and me.
And then it says that, “these people had been baptized in the name of the
Lord Jesus, but the Holy Spirit had not yet come down on any of them”.
If Jesus promises to send Holy Spirit to us then they should already have Holy Spirit and they do not need peter and John to put their hand on them to pray for them in order to receive Holy Spirit because they accepted the word of God and they also believe and Holy Spirit should automatically went to them. How is possible that peter and John have to go and pray for them.
It continues line 17, “When the two apostles laid their hands on the people, they received the Holy Spirit”.
“And if we say that we receive Holy Spirit then how did we receive Holy Spirit”.
The above 3 are the conditions are the condition to enter the Kingdom of God.
THEY DID NOT RECEIVE THE BAPTISM OF HOLY SPIRIT SO HOW DID WE (PEOPLE OF TODAY) RECEIVE HOLY SPIRIT.
Does that make any sense? Yes or no.
You simple answer the question in comment and I can continue on further.

- They accept the word of Lord Jesus Christ
- They believed AND
- They Baptised
- They did not receive Holy spirit
- Condition Number 1=Believe: John 3:16 [SUP]16 [/SUP]Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life
- Condition Number 2=Water baptise- John 3:5-8 [SUP]5 [/SUP]Jesus answered, “Believe me when I say that everyone must be born from water and the Spirit. Anyone who is not born from water and the Spirit cannot enter God’s kingdom.
- Condition Number 3: Spirit Baptise- John 3:5-8 [SUP]5 [/SUP]Jesus answered “Believe me when I say that everyone must be born from water and the Spirit. Anyone who is not born from water and the Spirit cannot enter God’s kingdom.
