I am extremely disappointed, and yet I praise God.

I had a job interview in which I was one of three candidates today, for a position that would increase my current earnings by 60%. I felt reasonably equipped to handle the job and the interview went well. However, I received an e-mail informing me that while I had some great skills, they needed someone with more experience.

I have prayed for God to shut this door if He does not want it for me, because otherwise I will walk through it. So while I am very disappointed that He didn't think this would be the best move, I have to also rejoice. I am rejoicing because God intends good things for us, and perhaps one of the reasons it didn't work out is that God was protecting me. I thank God because He gave the job to someone for whom it was right.

Perhaps God wants me to stay where I am at, and if so, I thank Him. Although I am not currently happy where I am at, I know that God can use the situations I am in at work to refine me.

I thank Him because He is my Savior, my Great Shepherd, and while I do not understand why He is leading me on my current path, while I have been kept from going what I perceive to be a positive direction-- I trust that He will care for me.


Praise be to our Lord and Savior.

It could be that this job interview was in preparation for another one that will lead to more suitable employment. This was true in my case. I'm glad that God is working through you so that you remain optimistic and that this disappointment actually increased your faith and trust in the one that truly provides.
