Yep, the bereans were actually commended by Paul for not just taking him at his word and instead checking the scriptures.
If one does this with modern preachers today they get a lot of grief over it. "How dare you question our pastor!"
I'm like how dare you have a problem with me putting God's Word before what man thinks and says?
I've done that in church before and was told that if I didn't like what we being taught there I should go find another church.
Problem now is most all churches today are teaching some false doctrine
