All right, I'll be the brave heretic here.

(I'm not really into peanut butter cookies. Maybe every now and then, but they're not what I would reach for.)

Commence stoning now!!

My favorite are usually chocolate chip (but only if they have enough chocolate,) but oatmeal raisin (has to be chewy!), Christmas sugar cookies (they taste better at Christmas!), coconut macaroons, lemon drops... Heck, just about any good cookie will do.

Just not so much the peanut butter ones.

(Surely everyone saved an extra rock or two for one last hurl!)

Shortbread....but the good stuff....not big store knock offs. Shortbread shortbread and shortbread.

Sadly, the really good imported stuff is big $$$. I need to try a few diff recipies to fuel my passion.

I like all of those except the lemon drops. I always forget about the coconut macaroons until I see them and then remember how much I like them. I expect @Cameron143 to chime in any time now about how he's getting cheated by those butter cookies with the hole in the middle...

Fresh out of the oven chocolate chip - or microwaved so the chocolate chips melt, and then have it with icecream (cookies and cream)
ANZAC (oats)
Peanut
Almond
Gingerbread

I don't have them very often though. It's only Christmas when we get those tins of Danish Butter cookies or shortbread, and then need to spend the next few months eating them, cos you cannot eat them all at once.

When I bake a batch, it's to give away.

I went to the Cookie Time factory and got some chocolate brownie dough, they have frozen ones and you just put in the oven - no mess!
They make all kinds of cookies but the OG is the chocolate chunks. It has to be made with real butter no imitation margarine. They try out new things from time to time, the last was cookies with potato chips in them...tried it and not really my cup of tea

Difference between cookie and biscuit...biscuits you can dunk in your tea. They may come with filling or chocolate covered.

Cookies are too big to dunk and are often chewier texture. I usually think of cookies as round.

Anyway..the real question is.....are you going to bake some and send them to me?

This Red Hots cookie recipe maintained a 5-star status with 61 reviews. I've yet to find these readily available commercially, except through Cheryl's cookies as a Valentine offering (which compelled me to look up the recipe) except they were Frank's Red-Hot cookies. I've saved this recipe, but I'm not so sure that I should expend the effort. :unsure: O

My favorite cookies are neiman marcus chocolate chip cookies. Neiman Marcus didn't even make them, but someone used a fake story to spread the recipe around the internet, back in the days of massive email forwarding.

2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 cups self rising flour
5 cups oat flour (oats in a blender)
48 oz dark chocolate chunks.

You can cut it down to 24 oz chocolate chunks if you're a pansy, but that's on you. I like my chocolate chip cookies where sometimes there is more chocolate than cookie.
