At the salon. You know i gotta get my nails done and my hair did lol. Just messing, but maybe the mall i guess? I don't exactly hang out at places, but i do go to different conventions and things sometimes though. Its a decent way to meet up with different like-minded enthusiasts.

I was thinking literary salon, like Parisians used to have, or do they still have, where writers talk about books and artists nibble olive and cheese. But I dont think there are any where I live lol.

Might sound lame, but apart from some of the locations you have already listed, I actually like hanging out in my back yard. I have a beautiful back yard filled with different trees, bushes, flowers and a nice patio/veranda to sit/lie on. On a sunny day, I like to just go out in the yard and look to the skies and meditate on God. I’ll have my worship music on and I’ll just lay there, absorbing the beautiful sun rays and worshipping God. It’s my time with Him ❤️

I probably won’t make this an area where I’d meet people though lol unless your family or close friends.

Oh, to MEET people... I missed that part of the OP. Sorry. Yeah, sitting in front of two laptops is a terrible place to meet people, if that is your intent.

On the other hand, why would I want to meet people? I like my dog better than most of the people I've met so far. Maybe I should find a place to meet dogs.

Is a convention the same as a conference or expo.
Conferences you have to pay quite a bit to go to them unless you get sponsored. Depends on how generous your employer is though. Good for meeting people but then for a couple of days it can be overwhelming meeting that many people.

People say its good for 'networking' but you more likely meet peoole who are trying to sell you stuff. Like a meat market I suppose. But the free pens, goodie bags and samples ought to make up for it.

its interesting that a lot of churches puts on conferences, but many have women only or men only ones. Why the separation?

at the bookshop I (used to) work in they had a Pen Station where you could try out all the pens and could leave little messages or doodles for the next person to come along.

I didnt really mind too much if people came into the bookshop and didnt buy anything. Some did come to hangout or just look at the books. But I figured I better actually work in one if Im hanging out there all the time so they wont get suspicious. lol

Some things girls want to talk about without guys around. Some things guys feel more comfortable talking about when there aren't any girls present. Same thing at conferences - sometimes the speaker can speak more freely to the same gender audience than to a mixed audience.

Pubs, bars, rock and jazz music venues. I used to frequent a bar that had a music performance karaoke night where anyone who can play an instrument can join in. I played drums often there with band mates or random people.

Wrigley Field/ville every day or every other day in the summer when I was living in Chicago, watching Chicago Cubs baseball games.

Snowboarding outings in the winter when I'm free enough.

I do also walk the streets or longboard instead sometimes.

I join sports leagues from time to time like Sand Volleyball at the lake beach.

Otherwise, I'm sometimes at coffeeshops working on software engineering projects on my laptop.
