Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Matt 10:28, and Luke 12:4 are useful for proving that people's souls don't
necessarily die and/or go out of existence with the death of their body.

Hebrews 12:28-29 NKJV

"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire."

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Some people do not understand what the fear of the Lord means as they say it means reverence, and not that it means depart from evil for God will punish the wicked, and some people hold unto sin and believe they still have salvation.

Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Pro 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, and to depart from iniquity, and if we hold unto sin the blood of Christ cannot wash the sin away.

A Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for they have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, and show the ways of the Spirit, so there is no excuse.

Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2Co 6:3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed.

Some people have a form of godliness, but deny the Spirit leading them, and are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, for they hold unto sin and believe they have salvation.

God says to turn away from these people for they are hypocritical, and do not represent Christ, and people blame the ministry because of their behavior.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom in which they do not fear the Lord for they do not depart from evil.

Pro 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

People that fear the LORD depart from evil.

But some people say it means reverence, and not that it means depart from evil for they want to enjoy sins.

God will punish all people that hold unto sin whether they claim Christ or not.
