I
I was reading out of my bible this morning. This is what read:
And therefore the Lord waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for his victory].
—Isaiah 30:18
I was surprised. This scripture, as I interpreted it, is saying that God is waiting on us. The Creator of this world... is literally patiently, humbly waiting on us to long for him. He WANTS to show us love and bless us despite any sin we may have done. He WANTS to bless us and love us, but a lot of us feel like we don't deserve it because of the things we do or say on a daily basis. I believe this scripture highlights the fact that none of God's children should ever feel unloved or unwanted. This feeling is doubt that the Devil has placed in your mind. He causes us to become absorbed in what we do wrong, our failures, and why we are NOT deserving of God's love. None of His children should ever feel this way because there is always someone who loves you and has your best interest in mind when no one on this earth does. It is Him.
Always keep in mind that no matter what God loves you and wants you. He is one who actually longs for a relationship with you and would love to have a place in your heart. Make room for him. If you are ever doubtful of your worthiness to God's love say this prayer:
Gracious and loving God, thank You for being willing to bless me. Even though the devil tries to make me feel undeserving, please continue to remind me that I am Your child and You are my Father. My relationship to You makes me deserving, and I thank You for that in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
