The question is, can any saved miss out on being joined eternally with Christ?

Because not being wed to Him sounds just like that.
Those left behind are joined eternally.
They are all martyred

Ok the foolish virgins are not shut out eternally.

They DO ATTEND the marriage supper.

They come in a bit later as the innumerable number.( martyrs)
They do make heaven and the wedding supper.

..are you aware that those left behind and martyred recieve the highest reward?

The martyrs reward?
Mere spectators at the wedding feast receive the highest reward... without being wedded to Christ?

SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
THAT IS MY GOD!

God had every single base covered.

We see that same beauty in the prodigal.

They are seated at the wedding feast.
Not spectators
It was basically said that they will not be wed to Christ, which is what I am questioning.

Therefore, they would be at the wedding as spectators only.

Two classes of saved people...

But how can one attain to life ever after if not joined to/made one with Him (as marriage symbolizes) at that time?

I am perplexed.

Get there late but get there and wash their robes. Via martyrdom

They do make heaven and the wedding supper.
While they (the foolish virgins) were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived.
The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Sure sounds to me like they are shut out...

Jesus does not even know them.

The foolish virgins get there late and are shut out, with Jesus saying He does not know them.

Your mention of robe washing reminds me of another Biblical wedding story...

Those who show up to the wedding improperly attired are shown out.

Why? Because they come clothed in their own righteousness, and not Christ's.

In other words, they are not saved, and are not allowed to attend the wedding.

Not being made one with Christ following the resurrection and judgment of all at the end of this age... as far as what the Bible teaches, those not "rewarded" with life ever after go to the lake of fire. Isn't that how you understand it? I have never heard of second class citizens in Christ, of mere witnesses to the wedding yet saved. Do you agree with what Lafftur is saying? Can anyone show me the verses supporting this view?
i don't agree with her view on that -- i do agree with you. she and i had a conversation about it a couple years ago; i remember - that's how/why i was explaining it. she can explain better her view am sure; i'm paraphrasing from what i understood her to mean when we discussed it before

He did not go to them at all.
That is ridiculous.

2Co_11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

The virgins in the parable are the Church/Bride who Christ/Bridegroom is coming for.

One of the most fundamental aspects of Christianity is that Christ is coming for his Bride which is the Church. That is clearly and obviously the same meaning of the parable. Christ listed 7 different examples or parables about his return and the parable of the ten virgins is one of them. Christians are not simply guests of the marriage to Christ. THEY ARE THE BRIDE!

Are all ten virgins the bride, including the foolish/those shut out?

Just asking because you did not make that point clear in your post...

And that has been under discussion ;)

I certainly agree that we are not mere spectating guests at the wedding supper of the Lamb :)

Maybe it means that no one can ride on someone else's Salvation...
You must be born again, we cannot borrow Salvation to get us into the Kingdom...
Many believe because their parents are believers, this gives them a pass too, just a thought...
...xox...
This is very insightful, Rosemary :) Thank you!

why does God make a distinction between having a "lamp" and having "oil" ?
what is the meaning of "
lamps" versus the meaning of "oil" ?
how can fools have spiritual "
lamps" yet be without spiritual "oil" ?
who are "
those who sell" oil ?

we're here:

Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom,
seeing he hath no heart to it?

Matthew 7:22-23 A Parallel Teaching To The Ten Virgins Below

The Five Foolish Virgins Were (Unsaved) I Know You Not, Its That Simple :)

Matthew 7:22-23KJV
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 25:11-12KJV
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

you did not answer or even try to answer a single question i asked so i don't know why you are putting this as a reply to me
i already told you many posts ago that my opinion is also that the foolish virgins are not saved. we agree.
so you don't have to keep repeating this over and over and over, especially not to me.

They were Christians and were going to be wed but they ended up being foolish and being locked out of the marriage. As I said before, they are the Christians that commit Apostasy in the Great Tribulation. That means they start out as Christians but fall away to the false christ.
