This is a post with obvious good intention. But I think it could be more hurtful than helpful. It would be more of a popularity contest. Those who aren't as well known would be more apt to be ignored. And those who have their own little clicks will revel in mutually gratifying admiration for one another.

Expressing our appreciation to others for the gifts we believe they are using to glorify God is great. But putting out a list in such a public fashion is a bit over the top to me. Just my opinion of course.

This thread was started by someone who people don't really know personally at all. I am not hurt by the thought ppl won't put my name up. There are ppl who are going through a lot in life and deserve to know someone still sees the dedication and love they have for Christ. If we are so worried because our name doesn't get put in here does that make us any less valuable or appreciated?

Thank you for commenting shadow. I hope that makes people think about entering someones name who they might not normally do so that we can get to know those who are quieter and dont tend to post as much.

Well, let's just accept that obviously only the most popular CC chatters are going to get rave reviews, yanno how christians love their clicks dashadow. LOL I'm sorry..I am teasing, seriously. I do see yer' concern though dashadow. I'm brand new here & would never assume to be on anyone's list (yet) lol because no one really knows me...although I think chrissy wants me to come up with an adorable nickname for her like my friend moonbeam. lol

Actually, as someone who has not been on this forum all that long but who has been here longer than others, I can easily identify that some of the people that have been here (this forum, not CC) the longest are using this as an opportunity to speak well of some of the "up and coming" people who have not been here all that long. In addition, I see people on this list who have not been active in this forum all that long but who have found good company and made friends.

You are, as always entitled to your opinion. I, however, see great value in the public acknowledgement of good. For more information on that you might research Character First.

In the end, we typically leave the table with what we brought. In bitter and angry? Out bitter and angry. In full of grace and joy? out full of grace and joy. Yes, we can build each other up and tear each other down, and there will always be someone who is slighted or wounded by looking for a slight or a wound. Today, right now, I see the value in this thread being that people are being encouraged by hearing good things that others think and feel about them. If your name is left off, try not to feel slighted and instead see this as an opportunity to identify the kind of company you wish to keep.

Thank you, however, for pointing out this other viewpoint of the same thing.

Since no one guessed mine, I'll just tell y'all.

Person #1 is Seoulsearch

Person #2 is Zaoman

Ha ha ha... Thanks Duchess! I didn't really recognize myself, probably because I'm not a Texan... but maybe I could try to claim to be "Texanese". :) Love ya right back, girl.

Texanese...that's hilarious, I'll have to remember that.

Ack! Sorry Seoul! I thought you were from Texas.

I visited Texas once if that counts :) And, it was to visit my good friend Musical Me, whom I met right here on CC!

We went to a restaurant and I, being the good tourist, was very excited to see cowboys... I was like, "Look! Cowboys!" and she rolled her eyes and said, "Those are NOT real cowboys, Kim. Look at their clothes. Their boots, hats, and shirts are brand new--no a speck of dirt on them. A REAL cowboy looks like he's been rolling in the mud."

I obviously have much to learn about the native culture. :)
