My wife kept my daughter out of school today and went to talk to a lawyer. I think God is telling me to wait. Also, I think the counselor I’m seeing is playing both sides. He or Holley hasn’t said they are speaking, but he seems to mention quite a few similar things that Holley and I have discussed. Today he talked as though divorce was best and that maybe we could try again in 5 yrs when Riley was out of school. I don’t know.

You need a new counselor and a lawyer.

Is this a Christian counselor? May the Holy Spirit lead you in this situation and restore your family!

O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.

If you do divorce I would not hold your breath for 5 years for another try at marriage with your wife. I'm sure that divorce is not the best thing but rather the likely path due to the reality of the situation. Yes, there is tremendous pain involved, I get that having been put through divorce and years of hell trying to remain part of my daughter's life.

Today my daughter and I have a wonderful relationship but this is due only by the grace of God.

I did not seek divorce even though my wife was a world-class slob, cheated on me, refused to do housework of any sort or cook meals even though I made enough money for her to be a stay at home wife and mother.

I wanted to remain in the marriage for the sake of her daughter. One day my wife told me that she didn't love me anymore and probably never did. That was probably the only truthful thing that she ever told me. Even so, the divorce hurt and I felt like a failure.

After a period of time I was thanking God that I was no longer in that horrible marriage. The divorce was actually a blessing from God that delivered me from the pits of hell. The only thing that I regretted about that marriage was the actual day of the wedding. That was the official start of my demise though it was my fault for hooking up with that wretched woman in the first place. I was young and foolish back then. I'm older and wiser now, thank God.

such an intimate Post, Tourist, TY for sharing...

but alas, we mostly are never taught to 'wait upon The Lord' for our 'first TRUE mates'...
it's usually that old enemy called lust and la la and thinking, totally leaving Jesus out of the
equation, even to having the audacity of pretending it is 'holy', WHITE DRESS and ALL'...,
been there, done that one!!! oh so many lessons to be learned, but the prince of the darkness
of this world most always prevails...

when you live as long as we have, 'the worldly-deceptions become very apparent'...
