God finished the creation of the world and mankind and rested on the Sabbath day from that as He completed the creation as He set out to do. Remember that mankind was created to expand His family and the Sabbath was also made for man to rest on from his works. I believe that when it comes to other things ie. controlling of the universe etc which includes the earth, God continually works as He can do it as He is God, and does not need the rest that man needs.

Praus, the High Priest always acted on behalf of the Children of Israel, just as our preist, Yeshua Moshiach, acts on behalf of all who belong to him. If you decide to keep the Sabbath holy by worshiping on Sunday, I suggest doing that with the ones who by ritual changed the day, or do so otherwise at your own risk. There are three issues at hand here, 1: What day to keep the Sabbath, 2: How to keep it HOLY, and 3: whether this shows or is contained within the Law of God. As for the third, if you read the first 8 verses of Romans (where Paul lists 5 of the 10 commandments) you will find your argument disqualified, thanks for the misleading reference. I know this thread is from October, but I had to comment. To read your exchange was very uplifting. It is by explaining her actions in observing the Sabbaths, and the feasts, that the mother passes their heritage on to her son, and it is by apologetics that we reinforce and correct our minds in the interpretation of the things contained in our hearts. This is a healthy, and ongoing process, by which iron is sharpened. I got so much blessing and revelation through this process in going through the comments here. You guys totally rock. Many blessings to all of you. Remember the Sabbath, AND keep it HOLY, AND love your neighbor. Then will you be sealed upon your forehead as well as your heart. Your hand, as well as your arm. Yes, Christians keep the commandments that apply to THEM. Not the ones made with Israel, and not the ones made under the Old Covenant which is no longer in effect per the proof that I gave earlier in the thread.

He requires us to do his pleasure and worship him EVERY Day..not just on one day.

By the way I wouldn't hesitate to keep the Sabbath if He required it..but he does not as is proved in my earlier post. The Old Covenant was for ancient Israel, and not for Christians....and it isn't even in effect for them now.

The Old Covenant is no longer in effect for ANYONE
Heb 8:13-9:4 In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. Now even the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly place of holiness. For a tent was prepared, the first section, in which were the lampstand and the table, and the bread of the Presence. It is called the Holy Place. The Sabbath, as part of the Old Covenant, is not in affect for ANYONE

Christians are under the New Covenant, which has much higher demands and different commandments

I am a former Sabbathkeeper due to my association as a new believer with Worldwide Church of God (now called Grace Communion International). Worldwide Church of God came to realize in 1995 that Christians are under the New Covenant, and not the Old Covenant, and the Sabbath does not apply to Christians under the New Covenant. It was a sign of the Old Covenant (like baptism and the Lord’s Supper are signs of the New Covenant), and is not a moral absolute like Sabbathkeepers claim. Sabbathkeeping doctrine invariably takes the focus off the true gospel, which is about Jesus Christ and salvation by grace through faith in Him (Eph 2:8-9). As a Sabbathkeeper, I rarely heard messages about God’s grace and love; the message of such organizations invariably focuses on the Sabbath. Jesus Christ was also placed on the backburner and was not the focus of their teaching. If you would like good sources of information in regards to the Sabbath check out Grace Communion International’s website at https://www.gci.org/law I now attend an Evangelical Free church that focuses on Jesus Christ and salvation through Him, which is the true gospel.

I don't think the word sabbath was used prior to this in the bible.This was a test whether they would obey him , not the keeping of the sabbath.Which was added latter as a Sign, because they could or would not obey him. Now all this hasled to the pesant ,to Christ. Heb. says that there is a rest remain for us, because those that should have entered did not ,because of unbelief. And that we should labor to enter that rest. And that he that has entered into that rest has ceased from his own works. And enter into Christ finished work for us. For this is the work of God ,that you believe on Jesus. Now sunday is an ok day , everybody almost has the day off. But it nor Saturday is the Sabbath in respect to God working now in the Church. Maybe he is still using it to lead some to Christ. I don't know.
