I am going through a huge battle spiritually speaking, my husband has been unfaithful to me over the last year. With different women, and in different ways. He first about a year ago tried to get my sister to sleep with him. Apolagized, repented, and we tried to move on. I just couldn't let it go though. We would be laying down, cuddling, driving to the store, and I would always find these bitter words of jealousy, anger, and sadness pour out of me. I would always accuse him of trying to do things behind my back, and cause fights over it in the middle of a perfect day. Well around the end of January we were arguing and he got in his car and left. He came home 6 hrs later 300 dollars more broke then when he walked out the door, he went to a strip club and got two private dances, including making out and only god knows what else. Well needless to say, I was very hurt, he went through a drinking all the time phase, went to the strip club two more times. Then a month ago, he went out got really drunk and ended up going home with some woman he knew from a previous job. He came home sick as a dog from all his drinking, and wouldnt answer my questions. We have since tried to work on our marriage, and realized after two kids and nearly 6 years together, we didnt appreciate each other like we used to. I chalked it up to it being a time of seperation, or figuring out what he wanted. I chose to forgive him, but i am tormented with thoughts, of the affair. I want to know what she looked like, what they did, how it happened, all the details. I dont want to know, but a part of me thinks it will make things better somehow, but it only makes it worse. I feel like i have to shame him for his unfaithfulness, and rub his nose in it like a dog who soiled your favorite rug. I feel bad though, because I love him so, He is a great dad, and works hard for this family. How do i move on. Is it okay to hurt about this, I bring it to God, in prayer, and pray for strength, and for peace in my heart. That I would not just say I forgive you, but really do it. But I dont know how to when this pain surfaces up out of no where. I know if I cant get a handle on this, its going to cause huge problems in our family. Any advice or prayer would be so helpful right now. Thank you, for letting me vent.

Hi,

Loosing trust in a partner through adultery is a heart breaking thing, I don't have all the answers ,but, hang in there and pray pray that God will convict your husband of his wrongs and change his ways, pray also that God will heal you of all the bitterness and anger these episodes have caused. anyhow, sorry I hanvt got great words of wisdom but you can be assured that I am praying for your family and there are wonderufl people on here who will pray for you aswell.

I would encourage the two of you to find a good Christian counselor to work with. It doesn't sound like your ready to forgive and it would be good to find out why he strayed. Just my two cents.

Forgiveness of this ultimate type of betrayal is very hard to learn. I applaud you for your efforts. Hang in there. It doesn't come over night. Too, until your husband gets to the bottom of why he has behaved this way and makes peace with God about it, turning from his sin, there will be trust issues. I pray for you both that God will place His hand on your marriage, bring you both into a closer union where He is the head of your family, and grant healing and grow back that trust that has been shattered.

Think of the Lord. How long-suffering he is and has been with us.

I heard a testimony, and this testimony is true. A lady was a good Christian. She went to church a lot, but her husband didn't. She thought she would win her husband by her lifestyle in Christ.

Well, one day she caught her husband cheating on her. She became very angry and resentful. And she hardened her heart against the Lord who tried to tell her to forgive him. He even sent messengers to tell her. But she found it too hard to do this, and she hardened her heart until the day she died.

She ended up in hell.

My friend if we don't release people, we will not be released. I pray the Lord make his face to shine upon you my friend. But always remember that we have to IMMEDIATELY, when we remember that anyone has anything against us, to go make up with that person. May Jesus bless you my friend.

Forgiving adultery is a complex issue. On a scale, being betrayed by your spouse ranks higher than any other emotional trauma for adults. Your emotions will run wild. remember we were created originally to live in perfection. Our frail spirits were NEVER intended to have to deal with something like this, so gicve yourself a break. remember too, God created us with a full range of emotions. You will find that it is VERY normal to have the questions you have about the other woman. In fact, experts agree that (in a controlled setting) having the injured spouse be able to ASK and have ANSWERED ceratin questions is a huge step towards reconciliation . I don't reccomedn you try it by yourself right now. All i want to convey to you is that you are exhibiting everything that most people in your situation would. A mix of anger, guilt, depression, even feeling sorry for your husband. It is very crazy making and will take time to sort through.

Rebuilding trust is not YOUR responsibility, it is your husbands, if he is truly willing he can do it with God's help. If you do not have some sort of ooutside support, such as a Sunday school class or a group of Christian friends you can talk about this with in person, I urge you to try and find it.

God can heal you and he can heal your marriage, but don't try to take all this on yourself as if you weren't as good enough wife.

Hi mygirlsaremyworld. I understand your pain & your battle! I just want to remind you that forgiving someone is not something you do once off & its done. You have to decide every day to forgive. When you feel that there is unforgiveness in your heart, just stop then & there & ask God to help you to forgive. It doesn't matter how many times you have to do this, it doesn't mean you've failed in any way, just keep doing it.
It takes a long time to heal a heart that has been damaged by adultery but again, just keep praying about it & ask God to heal your heart. He has given us a promise that He 'heals the broken hearted & binds up their wounds'. If He has promised it, it is true, just keep asking for that healing.
You have done the right thing by seeking advice from other Christians. Keep looking to Him for your answers & He WILL honour you! We are all human & have struggles but just keep coming back to the feet of Jesus & you will find peace, goodness, faithfulness & blessing. It's in our obedience that there is abundant blessing.
May God strengthen you & comfort you now and may you have peace in the future He has planned for you!

When Peter asked how many times we should forgive he suggested 7 times, but Christ said to forgive 77 times x 7.

I read everyones posts and took into consideration what you all said. I love my husband, and I know that I want to move past this. I have continued praying about this. And I know God knows my struggles, and is seeing me through this very difficult time in my life. I just today started feeling very bitter towards my husband, and got very sad and was crying. I let myself be sad for a minute. Then I turned to God in prayer, and asked him to give me love to forgive my husband, and I again chose today to forgive. I know that everday is a choice to forgive. And I am sure it will take some time, before the sting of this whole thing goes away. I am just really thankful, that I have people on here for support, a husband who understands im grieving for what i had lost. And a God who is patient with me and helps me through every day. I am leaning on God, and trusting, for restoration and healing in my marriage and self. thank you again, and God bless you all!!

I am sorry that you have to go through this. I have been there and it is painful. I had my wife leave for no reason then after the divorce I found out she cheated on me. You will have days of anger and hurt and so many questions that your mind will spin but the best advice I can give is to pray. The harder it gets, the harder you pray. I have asked forgiveness for her because I am not sure she thinks she did anything wrong. I could be wrong but she has never apologized for breaking her vows or our marriage covenant. I don't blame her for any of it though I blame myself. I noticed, through prayer, that I took her for granted. I thought she was there just for my needs without ever thinking she may have needs of her own. I don't write this to say you are at fault but as a caution, when you pray for certain things GOD has a way of answering those prayers that can make you feel great and just as bad.

I am praying for GOD to help you through this pain and to give you guidance. I pray you can trust and forgive you husband for what he has done but that is between you and GOD. GOD bless.

Well my husband of 2 1/2 yrs, admitted to me last month (after I had been to the Dr. and was told I had an STD) that he had been unfaithful. The same woman twice. We have a 7 month old. I have been with my husband for 8 yrs, and I would have bet everything I own that he would never do this to me. We both attend church regularly, we dont really argue, He says he doesnt understand why he did it, neither do I. apparently it was a woman he we to high school with, and thanks to Facebook, he got re-connected with. But mygirlsaremyworld I know what you mean by wanting to know everything, I was the same way, I started asking all kinds of questions, and even talked to her on facebook, she told me some things that I probably didnt want to know. Trust me it doesnt make things any easier...I found out what kind of car she drove, so now everytime I see one i think it might be her. It was tearing me up inside, that this woman shared with my husband something that I thought only we had, I have only been with him, and he had only been with me. We have been talking with our pastor, which I really think it has helped. He has talked to my husband alone, to find out where he really stands, and my pastor told me he broke down, and started crying right there, he told him he honestly didnt know what he was thinking, and that he wants to be a better christian. He has even been to my mother, and apologized to her. I have really, really good days with him, and then all of a sudden I will think, "wait a minute, you cant be happy around him, he needs to keep suffering for this..youre letting him off too easy"...I told my pastor about that and he said tha the needs to grow as a Christian, and be able to build hiself up, so that in return he can be a better husband to me, so in order to do that I need to help build him up as well (as hard and unfair as that sounds).. This is the hardest thing I have ever been through, but I'm praying something good will come out of it, Im praying God will strengthen our marriage, and things will be even better than they were before. I pray for you all as well!

Dear mygirls...,

I recently learned of a ministry which specializes in supporting married couples who are recovering from adultery. It was founded by Gary and Mona Shriver, who faced that same situation some years ago. I have listed the contact information below. You might want to consider getting their perspective on your problem.

Hi hon...

I've been exactly where you are. I think from your last post that you are taking your first steps. You said that you know forgiveness is a choice and you're choosing to forgive him. Just understand that forgiveness does not mean trusting him right away. It means that you're giving up your right (because you DO have the right) to take revenge on him. Trust is something that he has to earn back, and that burden is on him.

A Christian counselor did wonders for my husband and I when we went through this. He was the second one we went to, however. The first did more harm than good, so it's really about finding a GOOD counselor. Not all "Christian counselors" are equal, I promise you.

I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. Keep making that choice to forgive and know that this is not your fault. Feel free to message me if you ever need to talk more in depth with someone who's walked through this.

Neither have i been Married nor ever could hold a relationship for more then couple of months, reason why is because i didnt know the Gosple, but was very Worldy. But i would to share some comfort and would like to go deeper into Spirituality wich i would of preffered to write you in person, but i think this will do for now.

I remember wenn i was a teen about 16-17 years old, and i went out with a young lady who was little older but was had a very tough childhood and found out that she could get some sort of "love" with men....any man, really didnt matter to her. I went out with her for a couple of months but never slept with her, through that time she slept with other man more then i would like to mention now, and i did break up, but wenn she came back and said she was sorry, till this day i dont know how it worked or why but i had no problem nor any issue forgiving her with all my heart and taking her back, now i had to at least forgivenn her 3-4 times witout any problems until i realized that "that is what she was". it was natural for her to do these acts and knew that she would change, if ever. But today im 30 years old, and that is what i want back what i had befor, that incase my wife would cheat on me, i would have no problems like in my youth to forgive her and take her back.

Just a little story there :).

There are many Options open for you atm, but i will ask you to remember that neither of these Options is the way Jesus Christ may wants you to handle it, but i hope you can get a clear mind, comfort and path that you believe with prayer would like to implement in your life through Jesus Christ.

If you want to fight for your Husband to stay Married, work things out and be able to Truly Forgive him in these Words forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing and help your husband back in faith not only towards his responsiblity as a husband and father but also as a deciple of Jesus Christ, then you will have to consider that it will take time, weeks, months, years...not for the breakthrough to happen but until all is finished and your Home is at peace and love, that at the moment you couldnt imagine.

We will start at the Begining, nothing i will write is for the intent to excuse your husbands action or to justify it, he sinned. There are some scriptures that you should take a closer look at, here are some 1 Peter 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour and Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Here i will asume you have no expierence and have given little to no thought to these scriptures, if you continue to do so then no good will come from it. These to Scriptures explain simply that: People Listen, you are not alone Satan is going up and down the earth to look for anyone he can get and he, even he has his army who will try and destroy all, not alone the ones who believe in the Gosple. Your husband seems to struggle not only with his own Lusts and his own Sins that is by the nature of Sin, but also now is confronted with Powers and Principalities that want to make sure that he stays Bondaged in his Sins, and it seems like you also have trouble against these Demonic Oppressions who keep whispering you thoughts, wich you do give head to were you then find no rest, neither a sound mind or soul. So from now on you might want to consider that you and your Husband are being Oppressed by Satan, the difference now is that you are being shown the Possiblity of it by me. You need to get delivered First of these Oppressions and know what your dealing with in a measure that is neccessary to handle your Oppressors then the ones who surround your Husband. Consider in all honesty that maybe someone is putting thoughts in your head and consider if these thoughts are from the Holy Spirit, yours or Demonic, if you believe there its from an unclean, unloving, unforgiving source...then get on your knees and pray for for everything that is neccesarry for you to get delivered and to fight back. To show Jesus Christ that you believe its demonic and you want to do something about it, for yourself, husband and children search for scriptures of Demonic Oppressions, Spiritual Gifts, search the internet for Testimonies of Demonic Oppressions and such, one person i can suggest is Bill Schneoblen, hope i spelled it right and his video How Jesus sets Captives Free. Everyday Praise the Lord with your own Writen Pslams, if you are Oppressed then trust Praising the Lord in truth and Worshiping him in truth will not only Tear these Creatures apart but full of fear are ready to run as soon as the presence of Jesus Christ is opon you. Then you might want to ask for discernment of Spirit, you will then "nothing to be afraid of" sense presences in your home clearly and depending on how much you can handle "without fear" Jesus Christ will open your eyes little more or less. That will help you recognize the spirits that work through Man, and yes Christians can have Demons in them, but only if there not FULL of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, if they are FULL of Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit they will do the Job for you and kick all spirits out befor you know what was going on. Test your faith commanding spirits in the name of Jesus Christ to depart, test it, if you see that you dont believe "be honest" that you can or that it works Pray for that Faith, and as time passes you notice your tone change to an Authoritive tone wich then they will flee. There is much more to this then what i have writen, and maybe Jesus Christ needs to change some things in you in order for you to handle such Gifts and Authority, but the more you put time and effort in it, the faster you humle yourself and if Jesus Christ wishes to give you these things the faster the Procces will go. Then by that time you will know what to do to help your Husband.
Matthew 6:24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. John 8:34Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.

This again is something i take very seriously and what i will write might sound far off but i will write. For you does it seem like he is Serving Jesus Christ or Satan?, answer that question to yourself, again he might be a Christian, but he is not a Robot he can choose wich Life he wants to live, either the life Christ offers or the life Satan offers. If you sin you are a slave to sin, what does that mean?....it means Works have to be done to please a sin, it means bondage to a sin, worse case scenario he is like Isreal wenn God lead them out of Egypt and said "parraphrassing" we should of stayd in Egypt we had it better there", another words he enjoys it himself or loves it. Dont give your hopes up, sinners Loves there Sins, but Jesus Christ is able to turn the Tide by grace that at some point he will hate the works of the world as much as one might hate the Praise of Jesus Christ and works of unselfish love. So if you take all in all, "not excusing your husband nor his sins" you and your husband under these circumstances are having a haaaaaaaaaaaaaaard time, Not only do you have to deal with your own Sins, but with Satan and Demons. But no worries....in Jesus Christ if taken by faith all of these issues can be grabbed by the root and tear it out of the ground, and nonthing you have learned during that time will be in Vain.

on the other Hand....Leave your Husband, you have work to do with the Lord Jesus Christ and your Job as a Mother is not being made easier with a Husband that seems that he is paying more heed and attention to Tempting spirits then Faith and Rigthousness, but neither do i know your husband or what he has been through. Your Health is suffering be it in your Soul or Flesh, and you are being Consumed by all sorts of troubles and thoughts wich leaves no place for Holy Thoughts or the Glory of Jesus Christ. But that decision is a hard one to make, you have been married to your husband for so long, and a soultie has been established, and if you marriege with that man has been sanctified by Jesus Christ then mabye all of this, is for a reason. But if not and you married him by any other reason but with the intention if your husband may support you in your walk and take you to new heights in the heavenly realm were Jesus Christ abides, then it seems that marriege was not good in the eyes of God. Either Option you will choose, i would suggest to draw nearer onto the lord Jesus Christ, as fast as possible knowing that your oppressors will have to be delt with. Get your sound mind back and sound soul...then pray for guidance.

Hope i helped

I am going through a huge battle spiritually speaking, my husband has been unfaithful to me over the last year.

Hi

Thanks for the sincere sharing. I pray the Lord will give you strength and wisdom to see through this circumstances.

Two issues to consider:

1. You have forgiven him for his past unfaithfulness. But the problem is he is doing it over and over again. And you should forgive him, not for his sakes but for your own overall health.

2. It's time to be focus and firm. You should focus on solving this unfaithfulness issue. If you still love him, tell him both of you are going to solve this problem. You initiate - Get a Christian counsellor or a trusted Pastor to talk it over. If he doesn't want, tell him from the Word of God that what he is doing is wrong. He has and is sinning against God, you (wife) and his children. If he still persists on doing wrong (willful), then you need to make a tough decision.

I do not have a specific solution for this. I have friends (wives) whose husbands refused to change their extramarital ways. Some of them divorced them. Are they happy? Yes and No. Deep down, they want to have a husband and a father to their children but their husband refused to change. They are single mothers comitted to their children.

Some stayed on. Are they happy too? Yes and No. Each day, their husbands come back home, eat dinner and life goes on. But outside, they have affairs with women. The wives are 'happy' their family life is 'still there' but deep inside, they know it is not real. They are hurting but they chose to stay on.

If you have been praying, follow what the Lord leads you.

Be strong
Bobby
