Hello. I left an emotionally abusive relationship earlier this year. My ex boyfriend was horrible to me, and by the time I left I felt so damaged and broken. An older woman I know who works with my grandparents invited me to her mother's birthday party to take me out of my slump. While attending the party I met my friend's 47 year old nephew, who I later found out is Seperated from his wife......and has two children, aged 21 and 25. The oldest is only three years younger than myself. I enjoy talking to him, and in a way, having a friend is helping me to forget all the hurt and pain my ex put me through. I want to do the right thing, and I want the Lord to bless me with my own marriage soon........Would I be wrong for being friends with this man, and being in his company doing different things? Is that considered adultery?

TB6423, you have already posted this same thread in the Singles forum. Please don't make duplicate threads in multiple forums. The mods don't like it and it makes their job harder, having to delete them..

Honey, the fact that this guy is almost 50 and is pursuing a 28 year old is a red flag in itself! There's nothing wrong with 50 year old men...but this guy is also married and he could be your father. I really do think he's bad news and just wants to use you for one thing.
Please think before you do anything you would regret later. Right now it feels nice to be complimented because you just broke up with your boyfriend.

I say you forget about him and focus on God for now. He knows what you want and if it's his will, you will find a good man to marry one day.

To answer your immediate questions......
Yes, Separated means he's still married. Yes, it would be wrong to be "friends" with this man. You probably will get some attention you want, but that doesn't make it right. Yes again, it's not ok for you to be "hanging around" a married man.
That said......if you are a believer, what does the bible say??
You say yourself you want to do the right thing and you want the Lord to bless you.....then pray. Pray with all your heart these questions to the Lord. He will give you clear answers.
Be ware of the enemy that will through seemingly good people in your way to take your focus off your goal to honor the Lord.
Don't give in to your feelings....they will lie to you.

"who I later found out is Seperated from his wife..."

Definitely a red flag, not only because he's still married but the idea of finding out 'later' is troubling in itself.
Did he not tell you off the bat? Did someone else spill the beans? Hmm.
