My opinion: A young person’s aspirations of becoming a lawyer can be rooted around the money that usually goes with it but, when they see that word first hand and the dilemma of defending someone where your gut says they seem guilty must be very hard.
The movie, Devil’s Advocate shows this quandary well.
yea they dont understand the ethical dilemmas involved. Seems like money talks tho...its the same with doctors some get into it and imagine cos it pays well, its a good job. That can be an ethical minefiled as well . Well any job can be, but if you just doing it for the money you will ignore all that
The thing is Martha thought lazarus would be stinking coming out of the grave but he wasnt. It was her misperception.
I just found it funny that she would be quite sensitive to that. Not mocking her but that she would be thinking along those lines. But I suppose if you had dealt with dead bodies before you might know a bit more about how they smell than me. And prolly wont find it funny.
I dont know do graves smell really bad? . jesus was anointed. And he had the anointing fragrance the very first thing the women bought to the tomb was spices and fragrances for his body. They knew it might start to smell.

Seriously, I find some of the stories in the bible funny.
I dont make them funny, but they make me laugh sometimes. People have different sense of humour. For example, some people just dont find anything funny in toilet humour.
They will say 'we are not amused'. And go round with frowns on their faces and if someone passes gas they will pretend they dont hear it. Which is very gracious of them.

She wasn’t saying Lazarus would be stinking coming out of grave, but he stinks for he been dead for 4 days and it’s to late to help him.

people didn’t have AC or walk in coolers in those so yea the weather can speed up the decaying of a dead body.
I supoose in the middle east its rather hotter than in temperate climates.
Sometimes Im amazed when I see pictures of the holy land that some of its just desert and rock. They would have been baking in the sun.
When Jesus says shake the dust off your feet, I think thats funny (or odd) to me because he wouldnt have said that in my country. He would have told us to wipe the mud off our boots. Cos its wet and cold!

This is not a funny story in the Bible but what makes me laugh is that Frank McCourt does tell it in a funny way.
Hes not mocking the bible but from his child like perspective its comes across as funny as in funny I do not get it! As a child hes quite in earnest about Jesus. This is a clip from angelas ashes. This is the film based on frank mac courts memoirs. FYI its in ireland they are catholic.

I see what you mean go ahead have a laugh, though it should be known that finding a funny story in the Bible is quite different than making a funny story from the Bible. the found funny is universal and the made funny is personal. probably either way you look at it rather an actual funny story or a presume funny story not everyone is going to see it funny or agree (as the world turns)
Sure, but everyone is different wouldnt you agree. I havent laughed at every single thing people have shared, but am not going to be rude and tell them so.
They would have walked on and then reached rotorua and got stuck in some boiling mud pools. theres an actual place called Hells Gates.

There are no laugh tracks in the Bible although God does hear it when you laugh and try to hide it.
